I was 100% down on him. I'll gladly admit that I'm eating crow on that call. Hopefully he keeps up his rather reliable game.

That's crazy, like a supercharged version of what Norm Powell does as a raptor.

I didn't really see Wanamaker getting minutes this season but I'm happy to be wrong. He is really doing a great job as a backup PG.

I am one of those fans who owe Brad an apology. He's been solid for the C's so far this year and is keeping that 2nd unit afloat.

Brad Wanamaker has been an intriguing player for 2019-2020 season. Over usage of Kemba Walker could be a problem this season. Using Wanamaker more and expanding his responsibilities would an ideal situation for the Celtics. Having him play along side of rookies Tremont Waters and Carson Edwards would be an excellent mentor on the court. He plays with such poise helps in the development of younger players.

Seems like he is finally getting his mojo back after a horrible stretch of basketball. Besides his limited offense, his lazy defense was an eye sore. Glad to see him back on track, could still be useful in the playoffs.

The very first play in that video shows Williams staying in front of Young for a long time.

And then, when he finally gets around Grant, Young immediately gets stripped by Wanamaker. :)

I was hoping we could increase this guys trade value and jettison him...waters has already shown he has infinite court vision to Wanamaker. We can’t have this guy running the backup point if we want to make any noise in the playoffs.

My primary frustration with Wanamaker is he doesn't know how to pass on the break. You can almost guarantee the ball is going to the hoop if he is the one holding the ball on a fast break.

Otherwise, he's been solid.

Wanamaker must be looked at with the knowledge that he's a 3rd string point guard. As a 3rd string point guard, there are few better.

Also he seems to have had his best games lately. In other words, he's improving.

JT's TS% by month this season, while jumping his usage from 22.1% up ast season to 27.9% (and simultaneously cranking up his rebounds, assists, blocks and D and trimming his TOV% as a 21yo 3-year NBA starter):

Oct .482
Nov .520
Dec .562
Jan .567
Feb .593

And yeah, through 20 years in the league Kobe never hit the TS% (.586) that JT had as a fulltime, 19yo rookie starter.

Having played in more games than any other C's this season (48 out of 49) and averaging 18.6 minutes per game (7th on the team), Wanamaker is more than a 3rd stringer. He's been a solid rotation combo guard playing on and off the ball. Maybe not 7th in positive impact, but reliable.

Wanamaker is good. He is the definition of a vet. A team like PHI would kill for a competent backup PG like him.

This reminds me of Jason Terry getting a Celtics tat and then getting traded. I kinda think billups did it too but not sure 100% on that.
