Re: MVP Discussion [19/20] [part I]
Giannis is scary good. Dont think its quite over for Lebron though, still a long season to go and Lebron still has the narrative. Also had another 33pts 14ast night. I think it will come down to head to head match ups.
Giannis is obviously number one now though. Then I have Lebron.
Giannis is a sure fire top 30 player all-time regardless if he wins a ring or not.

Is Lebron upping his assist numbers to lead the league getting discussed?

On purpose?
That is quite ridiculous, he is playing the point guard role, setting up plays, of course his assist will go up, not to mention playing with AD is almost an automatic assist.

Also kept his turnovers down which is impressive

Re: MVP Discussion [19/20] [part I]
I have Giannis right now. I LOVE Luka but ultimately I think Doncic is going to come down to earth. This is going to be a Durant/Bronesque race ala 2012-2014 between Lebron and Giannis. The head-to-head matchups in December and March will be key.
I still get goosebumps watching the highlights of the Lebron-Durant matchups in 2014. Durant had Lebron on skates in Miami. Lebron came back to OKC later that year and demolished the Thunder. Ibaka also demolished his nose that same game.

Right now it is just great to watch both Giannis and Luka play. Just when you think that one of them has established a lead the other counters with an even better game.

Giannis negating the ground Luka made up yesterday lol
Also no empty stats here, with khris out, also hill, close game, he had to put up those numbers
No Gobert, but Jazz are still a good defensive team even without him.
Giannis has been without his #2 for half the season and the Bucks have the 2nd best record in the league despite having the toughest schedule. He is the MVP

Are we sure the Jazz are a good defensive team without Rudy? They gave up 120 (113 otg) against the Pelicans the game before at home. They have 0 rim protection/paint defense without him. Bradleys their only big and hes very meh
with that said Giannis is easily Mvp. It may be close with a couple other candidates now but it wont be for much longer

Re: MVP Discussion [19/20] [part I]
Maybe an overreaction but Giannis might be one of the most impactful players of all time. Like top 10.
There aren’t many players in the history of this league who could anchor a top 3 defense AND offense.
Of course, he needs to do that in the playoffs to fight for these all time spots, but in terms of regular season he is up there with the greats.

Yeah they went all in on spread pickanndroll downsizing with Royce at the 4. Defense only works b/c of a Dpoy C. Otherwise it looks like a mess to me. Perimeter defense is fine tho

Bucks don't have a #2. They have giannis and bunch of role players, khris included.

Agreed.....which works in his favor for MVP argument. Lebron has AD, Luka has Porzingis, Harden has Westbrook, Kahwi has PG13. I would take any of those players over Middleton in a heartbeat.

Giannis.
It's close at the moment but it won't be at the end of the season when record plays a big factor.

Why do people continue to push this idea that basketball is a 2 on 2 game and nobody else on the roster matters?

Lebron did it in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 and won rings and fmvps.
Would have done it in 2009 as well if Mo Williams didn't disappear and or if cavs had more talent

I wouldn't go that far. Khris still puts up an efficient 18-20 points.
Admittedly though, I don't think any of Middleton, Bledsoe, or Lopez are amazing second options. But they're all very good 3rd options

I don't think it's very close, sure maybe on offense, but defensively Giannis will be in the running for DPOY. He's the only guy who can say he's the backbone of a team on both sides of the ball.

Helps narrative they want pushed
Middleton and Bledsoe vs say AD and who is the lakers 3rd best player? Green? KCP as of now? Avery?
On top of the bucks having tons of shooters and smart players: Hill, Korver, Lopez Bros, Pat, Wes, Donte, Illyasova, Sterling Brown, and even DJ Wilson as a young guy
Giannis' super high usage rate should also be looked at
