Also put Bam on Siakam.

76ers game was a fluke. Besides us, they haven't held anyone to under 90 points. We were just missing shots and they were hitting lucky shots.

What? No. Embiid was parked in the lane preventing cuts to the basket and completely ignoring Bam because Bam isn't aggressive with the ball. We've discussed this ad nauseum already. Every team we've lost to has implemented this strategy against our scheme because they have to proper defense to do so.

Embiid wasn't causing us to go 6/24 on 3s. We also had 12 assists and 17 turnovers that game. BTW, we scored more points in the paint than the 76ers.

This is gonna be a really tough game. Raptors are deep, man.

Imperative that we get off to a solid start. Will be interested to see how Nunn fares vs another quality team.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Spo goes zone on them a bit tomorrow. Expecting a fair bit of

Winslow
Butler
Robinson
Jones Jr
Adebayo

Short on spacing, but long and disruptive defensively. We’ll see.

Yes, he did. We couldn't run the usual sets that get our shooters open. The threes we got are typically off the sets we run when Bam is involved with screening. When the big follows Bam out of the key, the lane opens for cuts. So the defense has to choose to defend the cut or the three. Embiid alone defended the cuts and so the perimeter was locked down. Unless we've learned to counter that kind of defense, you'll see more of the same against the raps. Bam has to be aggressive or the bigs will camp the lane.

You can't just look at the stats and say we need to hit our threes. We usually do. But why haven't we in these losses? It's all the same pattern. Twix2500 pointed it out in the sixers thread with pics and vids and he's absolutely right. Our scheme relies on Bam. Bam has to be more aggressive so bigs are forced to step up and defend him instead of ignoring him outside of the lane. Of the cutting lanes are blocked, our offense collapses.

Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn are in the lower left column of NBA math's TPA. They better tighten the **** up.

That looks more like Chalm’s hand writing.

Goodboy is more the type of guy to ask Santa for 1,000 lbs of dynamite to remove a deceased beached whale.

Agreed. They are playing very loose, but one of the advantages to their games is speed. If you ask them to slow down they risk losing what makes them worthy of being in the game. Some postseason experience and an offseason to study tape will probably help a good bit. Definitely need to increase that awareness.

Going to be a nice test. Raptors have been juggernauts at home. Will be interested to see who starts on Pascal.

Van SkeetSkeet gonna skeet all over us. Need to lock him down, he’s sneaky good. Maybe see if Nunn can stick with him, otherwise opt for the size of Justise or Jimmy and see it that deters him.

Fully expect them to play way off Bam like Philly did. He needs to either shoot it or attack the paint and draw fouls on their bigs.

Do not count on Nunn to stop anyone, better option will be Winslow, and of course Bam on Siakam, he is playing extremely good.

Welcome back to the upper echelon of the East Miami.

Remember guys, contrary to American propaganda channels like ESPN, the conference does not go thru Wisconsin or Pennsylvania.

Winslow's numbers are encouraging but it's still a small amount of data with him missing 11 of Miami's 19 games.

Here's some other numbers for some context..
Butler and Silva are +34.7 points per 100 in more minutes together than Butler and Winslow.
Butler and Herro are +20 in nearly 200 minutes.
Butler and Robinson are +12.4 pts in 224 minutes.
Butler and Nunn are +8.4 in 355 minutes.

Winslow has 9 different 2 man combos that are +7.5 per 100 or higher, only Leonard is negative with Winslow.

If the team can keep up these types of numbers with Winslow that's he's done so far, Miami will be looking at going deep into the playoffs, ECF, I'm just not sure those numbers will stay that good as more data comes in.

I'm getting Rocky 1 vibes for these next two games. I just would like to see the team "go the distance" and be competitive against the elite east teams on the road. Going 0-2, though humbling, is a survivable event so long as Mia doesn't get blown out.

If they are uncompetitive then I expect the trade rumors to ramp up.

Think I'd start Winslow over Nunn.
