The last game against the Knicks. Watching them feast switching on 6 foot nothing Edwards, Kemba, and Wannamaker... which is a lineup we had out there for awhile.

It did cross my mind how much of an advantage of defense the 76ers have with 6'10" strong as a Center, more athletic than Brown Ben Simmons at PG for defensive rotations.

He's a mismatch on defense for anyone he guards.

Still think 76ers got a lot worse this year, and Embiid and Simmons fundamentally don't fit. And Horford at PF instead of Butler at SG was a terrible move for their roster makeup.

That said... gezzes. If we could trade like Walker for Simmons I'd guarantee he'd be in the MVP conversation and putting up 20 + ppg and 12 + aspg with 10+ rpg on this team as the leader.

Simmons would be the perfect piece to compliment Tatum and Brown and they'd be draining open 3s and layups all game long. Then they'd be the best 1,2,3 defensively in the league.

Yeah, another financial casualty after Irving screwed us.

Had to let Horford and Baynes go.

It does look like this team last year really wasted Baynes potential, the Suns got a 3 point shooting defensive Center God and said... wait let's let him shoot 3s for real. And what do you know, they're getting return on that contract of someone that should be paid at least 15 million a year for the value he brings to the court.

The Celtics got Ojeleye remaining from the Rondo trade. Did the Mavs come out on top?

I'm sure there's plenty of players more deserving of POTW than Carmelo Anthony. However, give the guy some credit -- he's been very efficient (for his standards).

Yes. It's the Dwight Powell trade as far as I'm concerned.

The top 6 teams in the East have a combined home record of 52-3. Raps, Heat, Cs, Sixers remain undefeated at home. Heat play in Toronto tonight.

Kind of troubling that they played us close.

Bucks, Raptors, Lakers, and Clippers are on another level. We probably have a chance to approach that IF WE CAN **** STAY HEALTHY. What Bucks and Raps are doing is quite impressive, iwbh. And to some extent, the Clippers too. They've had their share of injuries too but they just keep trucking.

Luka (beating out James Harden) and Giannis (beating out Brad Wanamaker) became the first pair of international players to win Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Month in the same month.

Man watching all these rookies shooting lights out is depressing. We must have the worst performing rookies out of this class.

Players of the month: Two non-US guys

Post#1076 » by Fencer reregistered » Wed Dec 4, 2019 3:48 am

The NBA split the Player of the Month award into two (one East, one West) for the 2001-2 season. I think this is the first time both winners have been international players (Giannis, Luka), unless you count the tie-heavy month that there were four, two of them Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitski.

Last year was the first time an international guy won each month (mainly Giannis, but Embiid once). Other international guys to be Player of the Month include Detlef Schrempf, Hakeem, Patrick Ewing, Yao Ming, Tony Parker, Pau Gasol and, of all people, Jamaal Magloire. (That may not be a complete list, but I think I got most of them.)

Obviously, international centers have been important for a long time, and the Spurs won a lot with Parker and Ginobili. But the current era obviously has a much stronger international presence than previous ones did, so I thought it would be cool to note another small milestone in that respect.

Will someone please just pass Alex Carruso a pair of clippers already?

Kid reminds me of that one kid in college who always had a hat on, and when we finally graduated and threw our caps in the air, we were all shocked to see how bald he was.

Denver's defensive and offensive execution was less than stellar down the stretch there. Missed open shots galore.

LeBron/AD pick and roll is unfair.
