Don't take the Pelicans for granted. Remember they got off to a 41-27 lead against the Mavs earlier this season. And in fact the Pelicans outscored the Mavs 2 of the 4 quarters in that game.

The Mavs needed a 45-pt quarter, a triple double from Luka, and a 24-pt 5-block performance from KP to pull out a narrow victory that night. The game was still within 2 pts in the final 2 minutes.

They've beaten the Clippers and the Nuggets, so they're certainly capable of upsetting the odds.

Reddick has been great lately. Their other two main guys have been okay. The rest have been bad --- Ball in particular jumps out. Even a guy like Moore who can be a bit of a joker has been on a bad runl. Their bench seems like it should be exploited.

Key news:
Derrick Favors (personal) will miss his ninth consecutive game on Tuesday against the Mavericks.

It's ironic to read about the post ups and all that stuff. We may see Okafor push Powell or KP or whoever around on a play or two making us go "omg, powell is so weak, omg kp is so soft, omg we need a big body", but on the other end the Mavs should score on him for fun.

TL;DR I fear the Mavs lose tomorrow, so they better approach this with the same mentality they played in LA after the 1st quarter and take the W.

Then why are you not just enjoying games, like you said? Why are you constantly trying to look up for stupid trades and anger everyone in the process?

Maybe you are not aware but, without those two NYK blunders and refs gifting the win to the LAL, Mavs would realistically be sitting at a 16-3 score. This would mean 3rd best ranking in the league. This roster has proven that they can go up against anyone, even LAC when Doncic is obviously not missing everything  . So yeah, lets just enjoy their games and lets see where they will be when the trade deadline starts closing in.

It's a little rich to act like the Mavs were just "that close" to a win in the Clippers' game. The only thing was Luka's shots weren't falling. Clippers took their foot off the gas with 3 minutes to go. Mavs got a wake up call that night.

I also think the Mavs are a tier below the top teams in the league. They're ranked 8th in the ESPN Power Index. That's about right. They haven't played a difficult schedule. They're a one-man band right now.

I'm all about the Mavs, and I do think Luka's time is right now & that makes the Mavs a force to be reckoned with right now. But, you can't simply gloss over the fact they're missing a 3rd best player. Nor, the fact Porzingis still needs to round into form.

That's why i said they can play with anyone, i didn't say they are the very top team :o And for now, we should just enjoy for what they are. We'll see what happens at the trade deadline.

Why do you feel the need to comment and whine in all my post? I literally said i enjoy watching us play, i still want us to be searching for upgrades

I have Okafor in my daily fantasy lineup tonight for that reason. Brandon Ingram too. Just because his salary fit, and I think he plays better when Favors is out.

Even though, Duke4life, kinda shot my theory all to hell yesterday

Ingram should play a ton (read Williams is out as well). Okafor I have more doubts about his PT, but the plays where he bullies the Mavs big guys will stick out for sure if they happen --- I mention this because it's ironic that we have the perception of "needing a bigger body C", yet the Mavs rebounding rankings are pretty good after 19 games. I am curious to see Timmy's activity chasing around Redick. And hey, it'd be cool to see Powell have another nice game like the one in LA. Feels like they'd have to play really badly here to lose this one given their current roster.

I don't know. I have a healthy amount of fear for the Pelicans. It seems that Jrue Holiday can single-handedly will them to stay tight in games down to the very final seconds. Every 3, 4 games, Redick just starts out lights out & puts the Pelicans up by double digits in the first half. Ingram is turning into one hell of a 4th qtr closer. There's a dangerous team. Especially on the road, in their barn, after the Mavs just got their heads filled with praise on Sunday. Mavs need to keep an even keel & take this game very seriously, like the game it is. A game with a possible rival for a playoff spot.

Yeah, I mean I don't expect Okafor to go for 20 & 10 or anything crazy like that. But, in daily fantasy sports, you have guys priced at all different levels. Okafor is cheap tonight. So, if he even gives me 8 pts 5 reb 2 blks, it's a win for the low cost I had to pay for him. I think the Mavs could have trouble handling his big body if Holiday works more in the half-court tonight. I could see 12 & 8 easy for Okafor.

Whine? Are you like 12yo or something? I said something positive and agreed with you that we should enjoy their games, you're the one complaining so much that they wanted to exile you to NYK forums. But i give up, go ahead and continue to be a ****, there is no reason with you. Can't wait to see you trying to trade 80% of the team after NOLA game. Gonna prepare my popcorn.

Delon Wright should be starting this game. Especially vs Jrue Holiday. I'll be pissed if Delon doesn't see 25 minutes in this game. Not after the outing he had in LA.

Also, looking forward to seeing a full game of Brandon Ingram. I think after tonight you guys will see why I'm so high on him.

Barkley and the crew making fools of themselves talking about how the Mavs should put KP in the post 10-15 times per game. Obviously they are not watching the games. Morons...

Horrible start.

KP looks pretty good, but Hardaway is way off so far and it’s killing us.

Mavs need to find a way to force the ball inside and make their rookie C work

When the Mavs play like this I sometimes wonder how they have the league-leading offensive efficiency. :-?

If anyone is curious, they have mentioned Milwaukee more on the Spanish broadcast, so far, than they have Dallas or New Orleans

By the way ... how much longer are the Mavs going to wear these city jerseys?

KP is better and better on defense. But for me, highlight of the game is already Luka clamping down Lonzo

The Mavs are giving Lonzo a bunch of space and daring him to shoot 3's.
He's actually a much improved 3-pt shooter this season so maybe the Mavs didn't get the memo...

Yep indeed. Was actually looking at his stats before the game. He is much improved. But i hope he won't show it tonight. And Luka played some impressive defense in the 1st Q. I guess they challenged him to give more effort. And also Rick subbed him out early. Change of tactics?
