It's a good thing too. Because, if the Mavs' bench let this game get away. Say they go down by 12 with 7:30 left, I don't think Carlisle even bothers to bring Luka back in tonight.

When Brunson first got here, he was a little general. Got the offense going.

Now, it seems like his minutes are so spread out DNP-CD's mixed in with playing during blowouts. His approach has changed. He's all about looking for his shot first, second, and third now. Playing with THJ couldn't of helped matters.

As much as I've said DFS is average at best, those were 2 HUGE plays right there. The defense on Wiggins to tie him up on the drive, and then the long rebound on KP's missed 3. BIG, BIG plays there!!

If Minnesota misses the playoffs, they'll look back at this game and be sick to their stomachs. Like Kendrick Perkins said, "I'm sleeping on Minnesota with the AC turned down to 60"

Brunson played like prime Barea and Dwight turning into Giannis, highlights of the game. Also a lot of credit to Maxi's defense. Absolutely horrible performance from Luka though. Very important W to get the streak rolling.

On the road on a tail end of a B2B is never a good combo, but at least no one had high minute totals in last nights game...

Prediction: Mavs win 118-111

Great win thanks to the bench.

It’s officially the game where I disliked the most the Way Doncic Was playing. It looks as if he was only looking for himself out there. He was not being a good floor manager. That last 3pt he shot was just a bad decision and he painted himself in a corner.

Really disappointed. It feels as though all the hype is going to his head and he’s trying to do everything alone. Where is the great passing game?

The worst is that in a normal reffed game he would have been something like 8/19 and 28pts. So no bad.

Great win. The bench especially Brunson deserve all the praise for this one.

Luka let the non calls get to his head. Otherwise it's nice seeing him off ball and setting screens for others. Hopefully he plays off ball more cause when his feet is set on a catch and shoot, it's money.

This is the underlying reason I posted what I said in the Luka year 2 thread this morning.

What will impress me most is when Luka has his first 20 assist game.

This "one-man band" stuff has to stop. We're not winning any titles with it being LUKA & co.

The 2015 Finals should of taught all of us that.

Phoenix just lost by 14 in ORL, with a mostly healthy squad.

Minnesota just laid this turd, after they crapped the bed in Memphis on Sunday, and the Mavs tried to give it to them.

If I'm a Sacramento, Portland, or even a Spurs, or Pelicans' fan, I feel damn good right about now.

Hats off to the bench! They deserve all the credit for tonight's win!

I think he can still dominate the ball, but look for his teammates more, like he did before. The past few weeks he was raking 10 assists all the time. Where is that penetration and those laser passes to a 3pt shooter? It seems like he cut those by half and replaced it with more dribble at the 3pt line.

Doesn’t help that all the best 3pt shooters seem to be on the bench... but still.

I think A LOT of it is due to DFS, THJ and Powell in the starting lineup, and those 3 getting the increased the minutes they've gotten.

I thought Seth Curry was signed, so Luka would have floor spacing. It seemed like Maxi's 38% on 3PM this season would get him in the starting lineup.

But, when you take those additional 3 point threats away, and the floor isn't spread, I think this is the end result. Luka playing hero ball.

Edit: And, I do NOT want to hear anyone come tell me THJ is a 3 point shooter. The whole point of having someone to pass to is the possibility they pass the ball to a teammate. THJ is a black hole. He makes it easy on the defense. Instead of worrying about defending the shot, dribble or pass, with THJ you only have to worry about defending the shot or the dribble. Dude is a bum. I hate him seeing the floor at all. Total slap in the face to Delon Wright.

Yeah, he needs to ease up on this.
Almost all NBA players complain when they think they deserve a foul but Luka is pretty expressive about it. I think it probably has to do with his youth but hopefully he can focus and run back on defense and not complain too long.
I don't remember exactly when, but once after he thought he got fouled in this game he literally put his face into his hands instead of running back on defense.

Off night for Luka, but Powell, Curry, Porzingis, Kleber, and Brunson took up the slack.

The way Powell's left arm got bent back by KP coming over for that contest. I'm not certain we'll be seeing Powell again any time soon. *knock on wood* I hope he's okay, but it definitely had the makings of a broken arm.

Prayers up for Dwight!

Edit: Okay good. X-rays are negative. He'll still probably miss the next game, maybe 2 or 3.

He simply had tired legs tonight. It was more than evident. He literally twisted his ankle when he tried to accelerate. He'll be fine, just needs some rest. And the way they usually play, worked brilliantly so far. Just KP needs to be more consistent and also don't know if people noticed, THJ went back to his bad days and can't hit anything. It was a huge difference when THJ was scoring over 20 pts.
