Did you go to the hour 3 part and to the very end?

Now i'm watching the Boomer and Gio show and someone called in and said the guy Tiki is talking about is David Thompson who Forbes lists as the 27th richest man in the world and is worth $38 billion.

Yeah, weird. I double checked that too. Oh well, I won't let that little snag stop the celebration. As we suspected all along, they never had the money after the ponzi scandal with what's his name.

My only complaint is that we have to wait 5 years. Good job dropping this 4ever bomb! :D

So glad we didn't give Wheeler that deGrom money. Apparently, his agent circled back to the Mets before finally accepting the Phillies offer of 5/$118M. Have fun pitching in that band box.

Rick Porcello on a 2-year contract, anyone?

We lost Wheeler so we're worse right now than we were last season. I'm not happy about that.

Hoping they get this deal done and signed off by MLB ASAP so we can spend some money this offseason.

The Wilpons are gonna be WilGone.

Can the Mets go after Cole and Rendon?

That would make the Mets a legit contender

If this deal goes through then i'm pretty sure the Mets would have the richest owner in MLB. Not 100% on that but i know we'd have a richer owner then the Yankees which is fun.

If I were a billionaire, I would've out-bid the Phillies for Wheeler and then would've (out of fairness) renegotiated deGrom's contract to give him, justifiably, more money than Wheelz. That would show the MLBPA that the Mets were on the right track!

So for the next 5 seasons, are the Wilpons going to be held to their fiduciary duty to put the best possible baseball product on the field or will they be allowed to penny-pinch in order to cash out as much as possible? (I haven't read any of the article, I'm busy with other shyt right now, so don't @ me.)

wilpons aren't running anything. They are just going to be the face until they are full paid out probably part of that approx 5 year plan.

But its been suggested that Cohen is going to own over 50% of the franchise from day one..and if you think he wont be the decision maker from day 1 you don't know Steve Cohen. He's not letting the Wilpons run sh*t...they might still be called the COO and CEO but its going to be Cohen's $ and him behind the scenes. Wilpos will just show up to there owner box but they aren't operating sh*t.

so they have to go all in for mookie betts next offseason right?

this totally changes the free agency game, for decades the yankees benefitted knowing the mets operate like a small market team, but now the playing field is even when it comes to free agents wanting to play in new york.

mets have a good young core, and they're in a position to re-sign conforto/thor/nimmo/lugo instead of trading them away as they get closer to free agency.

mets traded 2 lower end prospects to the astros for jake marisnick.

there's your backup defensive outfielder.
