If he gains confidence and continues to deliver while putting on more size it's only gonna get more entertaining from here. He has great chemistry with Devonté. Kemba Walker was a great influence on this group. Terry was a solid addition and PJ was a great pick. Zeller is hitting threes. Being mediocre can really drain a fan. But this is just the beginning. Our floor is higher than most imagined.
Monk can still use 10 to 15 more pounds, but his ability to drive the lane is such a wonderful surprise.
He has the quickness to get to the hoop, especially with his improved handles (yes, I've noticed). The defense must push out to the perimeter on him because they respect his range. He's making them pay for it. He's become more unpredictable because he can launch one, pass or drive. Lately he's been eyeing the perimeter, driving and passing to the open shooter. He knows where the ball is going before he puts it on the floor. His court vision is underrated. But this is a kid who sees the floor well. He tries to do too much at times but more frequently he's making the simple pass and racking up assists. He's creating good looks for his teammates and getting open for them. A bigger Monk is a handful. I love watching the dynamic between Monk and Devonté. They're both very dangerous and tough to defend. Both have improved and the results will fuel greater confidence. It's a great backcourt duo.
