Re: NBA Trade Thread
I don't see the FO trading for CP because it negates cap space for the gigantic 2021 free agency class. CP3 is the opposite of that, making $44M until 2022. It's really almost every team's plan, which is why OKC can find no buyers for CP3 despite him being a better guard than most teams have.
If we were OK w/ just ignoring the 2021 FA class, I assume we would have just signed a close to max guy like Brogdon last offseason instead of acquiring Porter's 2 year contract. Personally I think it's smarter to ignore free agency since Chicago has had no history of signing high level star FAs, but clearly the FO thinks differently when they used their cap space for Porter's 2 year deal instead of someone for 4 years.
Bulls didn't really sign Sato & Thad for 3 years either, they are both guaranteed only $5M for their 3rd years. I don't think Chicago has any intention of keeping either guy. They're going pretty hard for cap space in 2 years.
I'd guess Chicago is willing to be bad for this year & next rather than undo all the financial planning for 2021, we've done similar things before.

I'd rather cheer for my ex gf to find happiness in her new relationship than Chris Paul...yuck, can't stand that whining flopper, it would be Wade part 2

Nobody likes Paul and his massive contract. But he helps develop White and bunch of 3rd stringers which is a major plus.
Shai at OKC looks like a completely different player after he started playing with Paul.
Plus he is close to a star and age really well so basically playoff contention. My hope is acquiring him makes a move at Lebron and even AD.
Lamelo will be a future superstar Bull. Book it. Lavar for president!

I don't think there's any guarantee he helps develop anything, he's actually got terrible body language with his teammates if they do the wrong thing, he's the first to point fingers.
Lebron and AD aren't leaving the Lakers to come play in Chicago with Paul, which is fine cause I hate them too

It's not terrible but I've always thought of AG as a 3-4 tweener, non-defender, non-3pt shooter.
Otto isn't ideal given his injury status, but if he comes back healthy and plays well to end the season, he may opt out and give us a good chunk of dough next offseason.

Non defender? AG is a very good 1 on 1 defender

Would love this deal. I for one am not sold on this idea garpax wants cap space for any off season. I think the bulls front office knows nobody is coming here. Unless we get some winning going , you would only make your hot seat much hotter selling the fans on a free agent off season splash and us getting turned down by every major free agent.
Aaron Gordon is a solid defender and good young prospect and Augustine fills a need at the pg position, and btw his last stint with the bulls he was pretty damn good for us. I see no real future for otto here. This would be a solid return for otto

Sign me up. DJ is probably the best pg along with Sato and finally can get rid of Dunn, 3rd stringer bums.
AG is similar to a Oladipo situation where Magic is just not an ideal environment to develop.

Get rid of Dunn who looks like a legit #2 PG now? He is playing like a guy we should keep on a reasonable deal. We won't keep Sato past next season.

Re: NBA Trade Thread
DJ Augustine was a great guard for us in the absence of rose when it was noah team that one year. He would come in already better than all of our pgs. I'm glad they highlighted lavine winning plays down the stretch but honestly it wasn't supposed to be lavine making plays to end games. It was supposed to be lavine off the ball along with a solid pg and unfortunately our front office has not fixed that issue as sato is proving to be more of a off guard. Dunn is a liability on offense that teams are leaving wide open and arci cant score. Lavine is being forced into a role he shouldn't be in.
As far as Aaron gordon he is a really good young prospect and could you imagine the 2 dunk contest finalist flying down the court with a solid pg? Oh my god I would def want to go back to games again.

Knox and Nkitlina seem on the outs in NY. Wonder if Dunn, Kornett and Valentine would get them here.

Who says no. Ben Simmons straight up for Zach lavine. sounds terribly unfair right? Although might be unfair for bulls. Zach is exactly what Philly is missing. Teams are playing zone begging them to shoot and it’s killing them. Philly says no as knee jerk reaction but after 2nd thought hmmm?

Re: NBA Trade Thread
I doubt Philly makes a big move. They're still easily a playoff team and financially speaking, they lead the entire league in attendance when everyone else is struggling with ratings & attendance. Even the Lakers with Lebron & AD aren't in the top 3.
I'd guess it will take a pretty poor postseason showing for them to break up Simmons & Joel, even if it make basketball sense. I mean Westbrook to HOU made no basketball sense and it still happened.

If there was anyway to get Steven Adams and Jrue Holiday here, I would be ecstatic.
PG - Holiday - 29 years old
SG - Lavine - 24
SF - Hutch - 23
PF - Lauri - 22
C - Adams - 26
I think Lauri really misses having another true big underneath like Lopez was last year.
I also think Jrue would be a great role model for Coby's development.
I am more than willing to give up WCJ, Young, Sato, Dunn, Otto, (and ride with Hutch & Denzel at SF) and picks to get this done...
The above team is a solid playoff team!
Then next summer (2020) we put the squeeze on the Bucks (Offer Lauri, picks) to get the Greek Freak here one year early!
