any thoughts on this guy from the international guys here?

super raw but the dude looks like he could be a pretty legit prospect in a year or two.

Except that he is not a center but a forward. His shot might be a work in progress (and dribble penetration etc as well), he lacks the power to hold big centers and otoh his athleticism/mobility always did fine when he was playing at the 4.
I am more than skeptical if he is developed as a C

whoa. you are a lot more bullish on him than I am, but i do think he's a guy who may be better in the league than he was at michigan.

He's quite raw and Michigan was terrible when he played without Dickinson, but I do think all the tools to be a switchy 5 are there as he can really finish inside, draw free throws, hit the boards with energy and generally looked like he gave a crap and even looked promising switching onto other guards and while he can't shoot yet, he isn't scared at all to do it. He will need a redshirt type year as an NBA rookie, but 2-3 years down the line I think he can be a promising starting 5 on a team that switches a ton like Boston or rotates constantly and overhelps like the Raptors do.

Want to bump this. I think that having Dickenson on the same team disguised some of his playmaking. He has really good awareness of space and where his teammates are. Don't think he's quite going to be Bam or Jokic, but I see a guy who can get a lot of assists out of the short roll and on cuts, etc. Could see him getting 3apg or more over his career which is very good for centers.

Think he's really going to be someone that's much better in the NBA than in college.

I know it's just pickup games and it's just highlights but Diabate looks really good here and is scoring with ease on Jaylin williams and josh minott, as well as blocking their shots:

Diabate looks like he's playing hard, high motor, obviously good size, looks like he's in good shape. The handle and shot look decent too..

I mentioned this somewhere else, but I'll throw it here too...

A lot of times the 4/5 combo guys we focus on scaling down and guarding perimeter (important) but then forget that they still gotta do big man things too. In that regard, I see shades of Looney with Diabate in terms of how he handles his big man duties. I don't think he will blow people away statistically, but he seems super sturdy, fluid, and assertive on both ends. Offensively, Looney had skills too, but his hips are just shot, so he's not a major threat... but Diabate could be Looney without the loss in mobility/explosion, even if he's not quite as polished as Looney was as a freshman.
