I'd like to exchange a bottle of good Bordeaux for a healthy Robert Williams and pretend that we just traded for a young rim protector on a team-friendly deal.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread, 2019-20
Would you guys consider Richaun Holmes? Has been playing really well for Sacramento, cheap and very friendly contract. I think it would be a great pickup for our big man rotation.

Why though ? He’s basically Theis 2.0 but without the 3 point shot.

He's in the zone where you'd have to give up a 1st to get Sacto to play ball and for them to fall out further in their race. He's not helping you guard Giannis or Embiid so you can't give up 1st round juice. That's my issue with most of this likely trade market.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread, 2019-20
If you could get Holmes for Poirier, Javonte Green and the Milwaukee first, I'd consider it. He doesn't help you guard Giannis, but he does give you another tough big man to bang with Embiid.
The problem with a guy like Holmes is that he will want minutes, and I'd rather give those minutes to Robert Williams when he comes back. Now if I thought Time Lord would be out until March, I would be more interested in Holmes.

Dedmon makes 13+ @ for 3 seasons. He is not worth that. Sac overpaid him. Even after his good season last season, he's more of an MLE guy. Reminds me of how Biyombo got paid, but to a lesser degree.
EDIT: Okay, third season is only 1M partially guaranteed. Still overpaid.

So you mean in the end he's only signed for 1 more year? Then it doesn't matter if he's overpaid. We're not signing anyone this off season with or without him.
Anyways it's academic, we do not have the $$$ to match his contract.
THAT SAID
Is he really any good? Looks like he's gotten some starts over the past 4 years or so, and has developed a 3 point shot. Maybe he's better than I thought and is starting calibre in this league.

Kanter/Poirier/Semi works in the trade machine.
That being said, I don't think he's worth much as is kinda washed.

Smart, Kanter and Poirier for Julius Randle and Dennis Smith Jr.?
Randle is far better than Dedmon. He is not a rim protector but is pretty good.

I'm not trading for anyone who stands to take a bunch of shots away from our core guys.

Celtics are fine at center with the Theis/Kanter/RWIII combination. Celtics could use another SF/PF that can score and switch on defense.
Target Alec Burk on the Warriors

Since when is Alec Burks a swing to PF? Are we talking about the same Alec Burks 6'5 guard drafted to the Utah Jazz when he came out?

SF/PF is what I believe I typed. Burk is having a great year and makes $1.6 million. Just sitting there waiting to be moved to a contender. I believe Celtics have had interest in him before

I've never seen him referred to in that way. PG/SG maybe, but never higher than that. He's not that big.

Grant Williams is a part time center in the NBA at 6’ 6”.

Right...and that's how he plays. A big strong guy who played a 17 ft and in game. Burks has NEVER been that guy. He doesn't play the 4. He's never been a 4. He's a ballhandling wing. Only reason I even quibble over a distinction like this is to push back against any idea that he would help us in the frontcourt. He does nothing for us there.

Never said it would help the frontcourt. I would much rather have Burks in the playoffs over rookies Edwards, Langford, G Williams, Green and vet Ojeleye.
I’m not concerned about the frontcourt. Shore up your team. No one is stopping Giannis and Embiid. That’s fools gold.
