Man the Thunder are usually such a tight lipped operation. That dude could legit get fired if this gets out.

Which is why it'd be super stupid to go around talking about potential trades with random strangers outside the organization.

Did you mean the Bucks organization or the Thunder (per RP's find)?
If it's the Bucks, Daniel Marks perhaps?

How the conversation should have gone:
Hey, are you a Bucks or Thunder fan?
Lifelong Bucks but I live here now so the Thunder are kind of my side team lol.
You don't post on RealGM, do you?
Oh yeah, literally all the time.

Sigh.
It's just you can never truly trust Eric. I want one more year to see this play out. Letting two quasi-PGs in Bled and Malcolm go for CP is a big roll of the dice.
Would healthy CP get calls in the playoffs and work the refs? Yes.
Would healthy CP randomly look like a Hall of Famer and win playoff quarters in a way that Bled doesn't? Yes.
Gallo & Khris is a wash to me. Both will look great when they're on. I would stand pat this year. Panic trade next year

Because you think we want to keep the Pacers pick, or there aren’t available players who would make it worth including it?
A consolidation trade might be worth it for the locker room if Brown and / or DJ are antsy about their career trajectory. However if they don’t have that much value on their own we might be looking at more of a lateral move in that case.
Holding out hope they have value for us or on the open market! Wilson has shown plenty of flashes (even if Bud doesn’t trust him fully) and Brown seems like a guy who could fill in on plenty of teams in desperate need of wings.
I also think there's going to be a lot of value in having an open roster spot in a couple months. We can't waive Giannis's brother and I'd prefer not to throw away the development work happening with Bender. Also open to moving either for a development guy locked into a long term minimum deal.
Agreed that an extra roster spot or two could be valuable.
Ring chasers might want to come to Milwaukee as they start getting waived closer to the deadline as well.
Sterling in particular might only be here a few more months. If we don't have a major injury the Bucks might prefer someone who might be here longer term or who has more veteran savvy to offer in big games in the short run.

I definitely respect all of your caveats and appreciate you sharing it if only for something else for us to talk about.
It does seem odd for someone with real power to poll a random fan...however since you were rocking both Thunder and Bucks gear, it's in the realm of possibility someone in the orbit of being in the know was interested in your perspective on what would assuredly be a highly controversial Lasry-fueled "go for the grand slam" kind of trade.
Guy introduced himself as Daniel, he was shorter than me (I'm about 6'3", so he was probably 5'11" or 6'0"?), and he said he was with the video operations department, which is why he knew anything, because somebody asked for his tapes on Gallo.
Was it this dude?

No, steakhouse was Bartolotta's on the Lake (I guess it's mostly seafood but I hate eating fish and sea bugs so I'm a stick in the mud). Guy said he was with the Bucks and again, I don't know if this was an offer or just a preliminary discussion or just an idea, all he said was that it had been thrown around the office.

Caveat:
The Bucks might only have this season to make a panic trade if Giannis is hedging internally on whether we have surrounded him with enough talent (if only the NBA-approved 'superstar' kind who get calls in the playoffs) to make it worth him re-upping this summer.

I could be convinced to do a deal for Bledsoe and paul straight up but it doesn't work and im not convinced the defensive trade off and injury risk isn't worse than whatever wed improve offensively.
a Gallinari rental makes about as much sense as going after mirotic does in retrospect
that wed be "dumping middletons contract" and tossing in ersan to facilitate this makes the deal gross

Will wait for GAD to make an appearance, but you don't need to put Ersan in this deal. The way I interpret the CBA is that since the Bucks would become a taxpaying team with this deal, they could take back up to 125% of the salary they send out. If they send out:
Middleton:$30.6
Bledsoe: $15.6
DJ: $2.9mm
Total: $49.1
125% of that is $61.375
Paul: $38.5
Gallo: $22.6
Total: $61.10
Given that teams talk about deals like this all the time, and Lasry back in the saddle, I'm sure they've tossed back and forth ideas. Whether those ideas went more than a five minute call, who knows. The big issue is that for OKC, it doesn't get them young assets. They would indeed need to flip Bledsoe and Middleton, or at least one. That's why the bit about "Bledsoe to LAL" makes this actually seem like a legit rumor.

I wouldn't throw Ersan into any deal just to make salaries work. He has great value.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Middleton becoming eligible for a trade in a matter of weeks now will also make deals possible that weren't before.
Bledsoe's solid play might have taken off some of the stink from his playoff performance as well. He only recently became trade-eligible too.
OKC aside it's possible the Bucks are brainstorming more bold trades than we fans would otherwise anticipate without the purview into the secret discussions Giannis and his reps may or may not be having with the front office.

Ersan has played so well that we could assume the Bucks will pick up his team option for next year too.

Yea, that's where I'm at now too. He might be our 2nd or 3rd most valuable player.

I want to say this is never happening but Lasry is a gambler and absolutely the type of guy who would be tempted to roll the dice on something like this. It's also tough not to worry about what it would do the overall team chemistry blowing up a 29-5 team that has been a well oiled machine.

The problem is that some contender is going to come after Paul this season. Likely at the trade deadline.
Of all the guys we could do a trade for, Paul is arguably THE guy that would be both available, and be the vet to get you across the finish line.
It would take balls of steel on the Bucks part to make this deal. Especially since Gallo can walk next summer. But if you truly believe Bledsoe and Middleton will shrink in the ECF.......
