Taking shots at D.Will and D.Harris is a joke. They were legitimately hurt and cared for their well being first as they should. Life is much bigger and more important than damn game. Those guys have families and friends as well.

A somber Irving offered no timetable for his decision but suggested it could be two months before he and team decide on next steps. He noted that he has concerns about long-term use of cortisone.

Irving disclosed that he first felt pain in his right shoulder vs. the Pelicans on November 4 prior to the Nets western road swing in November when the injury worsened. His last game was vs. the Nuggets on November 14. Moreover, he said even if the cortisone works, he will probably need surgery down the road.

Not good news at all. He might be done for the season.

He needs to have surgery and begin the recovery process. Dragging this out is absolutely foolish.
That seems like the obvious thing to me since this non surgery route is taking months anyway.

Spoke to my friend that does orthopedics and I def think we won't see him for awhile.

Non-surgery is actually the best way to get better(basically rest). The cortisone shots is only something they give to athletes to speed up the healing process but taking multiple shots is not really a good thing, since it actually breaks down the layer of fatty tissue in the joints.

Hopefully he gets better in the next couple weeks but not holding my breath :(

It's more important for him to be healthy next season anyway.

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if he winds up sitting out the rest of the season and we unintentionally tank. Wind up somewhere in that 7 to 12 range and with the new lotto odds/rules a great shot at a jump. I don't follow the draft or college ball too much anymore, but imagine adding someone like this year's Doncic or Harden to this squad? Contention for ions. Or could sew up a package for a guy like Beal or KAT this summer while being able to retain Soul Glo or LeVert.

Just get the darn surgery now so he can be 100% recovered by the summer or so. We can always get a lottery pick to join the 2 stars next year.

If that's the case, we might as well shut him down for the season. With the way the team has been playing, sliding out of the playoffs is a legit possibility so i'd rather have a 1st rd pick in the teens.

From what I understand, it also thins out other tissues as well. For example, my mom took years of cortisone shots to help treat her arthritis, and it wound up fatally complicating an entirely different issue (colon-related) due to the tissue-thinning effect.

The fans saying 'Kyrie should do the surgery now' and 'Nets are screwing up this rehab or that rehab' literally (not figuratively) don't know what they're talking about. They're not health professionals with all the relevant data, and at best they're only looking in from the outside, seeing a limited amount of the whole picture.

Good thing there's social media, I guess. :S

I have faith that Orlando can overtake us. Our only shot at getting knocked out of the playoffs is Devonte Graham. The rest of the east is sleep walking through '19-'20, waiting for another offseason.

I don't like how Kyrie has been getting compared to Deron Williams in some situations. Completely different situations but I'm just going to wait and see how things play out

If we have our own pick, then shut him down....

Not happy with our team’s performance thus far into the season even with the injuries(not asking to beat the greats, but we’re better and good enough to beat the “weaker” sides)

Idk... I think there’s still some mismanagement by the coaches but that’s taboo here.

It’s annoyingly similar though. Star guard with attitude issues comes here to be our savior, but ends up being damaged goods and never lives up to the hype outside of some flashes.

Their mentalities have been totally different though, so it should ultimately play out in Kyrie’s favor, but his injuries do legitimately scare me. He’s always been injury-prone, and this shoulder injury is clearly a pretty big deal to knock him out for this long and maybe for a whole season.

I want this to be over with, but he's so huge for our team and such a game changer.

Much needed good news. As long as he's back in the next couple weeks I'd be happy.

Getting this team healthy again is much needed. Hopefully team can make a run post all star break.

Don't let the idiots who kept pushing the notion that the Nets are better off without Kyrie or the Kyrie is a bad teammate narrative pushers see this.

Between the news about Kyrie being able to practice and KD taking a sledgehammer to Knick fans on twitter I feel a bit better despite the frustration. Hopefully we can give Miami a fight tomorrow.

Kyrie looked like he was in great spirits. He must be feeling good. The team really needed that. I know it's easy to say fans overreact to losses but I think the team was really down after last game.

Man, idk how Kyrie was before the Nets but he just comes across as humble and genuine. Hard not to like.

Lots of good tidbits in there:

1) He tried coming back earlier and had a setback. This prob happened when the nets were still calling him day to day.

2) The cortisone shots were just to help him heal faster and feel better doing the required.

3) When he comes back he might take awhile to get back to elite. He mentioned he'll have to adjust his finishing around the rim and attack left more than he would usually do.

4) He said he will have to keep up the shoulder maintenance for the rest of the season and maybe his career?! So this shoulder thing can def happen again. Not freaked out about it tho

Side note: Moving to Nets has made him closer to the family and that something he has had to handle with, the good and the bad. Not the first time he has mentioned how important being near family was.

Makes you think about KAT down the line
