Blake Griffin got to be done. I said it was dumb for Pistons to trade for him when it happened. They were nowhere close to building a contender and traded for a star with an extremely small window.

Bam wasn't a fit-pick and Herro was probably BPA.

BPA is subjective, I won't argue that. But very hard to see a scenario where either pick was a ceiling/upside pick where they were chosen. Both out up meh seasons with glaring flaws. I see Bam as a fit-pick cause we knew Hassan wasn't a part of Heat's future at that time-- not sure how else to see that pick at the time, so in that context I see them as fit picks

There were around a hand full of prospects that went after Herro that were generally rated higher, but opinions vary. Doesn't matter now

Bam and Herro put up "meh" seasons? Bam had a BPM of 9.5 which is basically lottery territory for a freshman. He was averaging 17+ PPG per 36 and had a TS% of 62.4. Herro wasn't a great finisher in college and still managed to make more than 52% of his 2-pointers. I think he even broke Kentucky's FT% record that year. Those are not "meh" seasons.

We drafted Bam in 2017 and Hassan left the team in 2019 so were the Heat looking 2 years in the future ? If Adebayo was drafted for fit, who was BPA?

Those are without a doubt meh seasons, especially when you compare them to the few players that were rated ahead of them

2 yrs into the future isn't a boisterous amount of time to plan for, we do that all the time. I'm not doing this dance with you, shoo

I think they thought Bam would be more of a shooter. The talk that he had a million consecutive 3s during draft workout were in propaganda for like solid 3 months

Nah, I respect the Heat too much to believe this. Bam led the NCAA in dunks and barely shot any mid-rangers, but they drafted him to be Bosh based on a workout?

I've heard that narrative, but assume it's mostly a joke from fans that watched the draft express(rip) vids

I guess you're right. MWP pushed it too hard so it's kinda stuck in my brain

Don't look now but Wizards bench is beating up on elite teams MOS (Heat, Nuggets, and now Celtics).

Speaking about Kuzma, I have a blind spot with these type of players. I generally don't understand what's the difference between Tatum, Harris, Kuzma or Rudy Gay. I guess Tatum is a better defender and Harris is more efficient, but they are all the same too me

Wiz have fresh legs and the contenders aren’t giving their A games. Good run, but that team is not a contender.
