Please, Forum participants prone to depression from Blazers' doing poorly (and you know whom you are), don't view this game. While on the 538 Raptor rankings of teams, I noticed that the Bucks had 5 or 6 players in the quadrant of plus offense and plus defense. The Blazers had one. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2020-nba-player-ratings/

Those rankings are an example of why rankings based on stats are BS. The difference between the teams is the impact of having a great player that can't be defended or countered.

Their players, other than Antetokounmpo, are not better than ours. We can't defend or counter Antetokounmpo. They can defend and counter Lillard with or without Antetokounmpo. We don't have an advantage because of 1 player. We try to construct an advantage with combinations of players. They have an advantage because of 1 player. Their 1 player in combination with any player is the equivalent of the 1 combination we don't have any of. The only problem for opponents we have succeeded in creating is the combination of a highpost playmaking big man and our guards, Lillard in particular.

Your impressions nor mine do not ipso facto reduce the merits of well-thought out analytics.

When Portland is healthy you may have a point. But right now, you're point is wrong. The Bucks have a lot of solid role and bench players. The Blazers are playing guys who won't be in the NBA next year 15-20 minutes a night. Such is the nature of injuries.

I going to go with Blazers by 6pts.

What would that win me if I put $40 on the game?

Without a doubt, it would give you an excellent opportunity to lose $40. I wouldn't do it unless the happy recipient is at least wining and dining you.

No Hassan tonight. Out with illness. This could get ugly early.

Honestly watching Hoard and Little out there. I don't see why they shouldn't get more minutes at the 3. No one else has definitively looked any better than them. Just throw them both out there and tell them to do what Moe Harkless did to the best of their ability.

Blazers minus three seven footer + long 6'10" = Tolliver as starting C and who ever is backup. Criminal that Gasol has not been replaced yet.

Doesn't look like I missed anything while watching the NFL.

I totally agree with the notion of just going with Hoard and Little. Portland has an open roster
spot so they presumably would need to convert either Hoard or Moses to a standard contract
and perhaps might have to release someone to convert both two way players.

I am struggling to watch Blazer games at this point, this team is pretty damn infuriating to watch, and the stacking injuries isn't helping matters.

I have to watch the games because I am a fan, much like you. However, I have tapered my expectations to not win much. Frankly, I'm hoping for more ping pong balls at this point. That's not to say I wont be stoked if they turn things around, but I just dont see it at this point and the season will be half over after the next game.
