every starter made a run to help us throughout the game, this was the biggest TEAM game you'll see and still it isn't voted that way. it's not that egregious but damn, this was our best TEAM win/best game from start to finish, hands down!

the defense that was played tonight was SUPERB. theis had the toughest matchup against AD and held his own. gordan hayward had the 2nd toughest matchup in lbj and held his own (could be tougher because lbj can beat you many ways), he and jb got us going early when we started slow (jb got to the line and gh scored and got into the paint). kanter dominated their bigs on the board and scored 18 during our great run, he also played solid D which will probably go under the radar (it shouldn't considering he's turrible a lot). tatum shot great and defended well. jb didn't shoot well but he defended very well and got to the line 9 times (had a very good quiet game, even before the garbage time mini-run). smart was on their ass on D too, he took good shots, his only hiccups were a few mins in the 3rd and 4th. kemba was EXCELLENT on offense, his penetration destroyed the lakers d and his d wasn't bad which helped our team D not fall apart! Everyone had hands high and in passing lanes! every player hustled their ass off tonight. the team D just made me smile ALL GAME, it was as if we were their evil twins who mirrored everything they did! That was total defensive domination and it definitely spurred the good feelings for our offense to go off! it was truly beautiful basketball by the TEAM.

Why are we 2-6? Mainly it is dudes it playing. We are not built with depth. We have which end players, and then really low quality back ups outside of Smart and Kanter.

Bench biggest flaw.

That’s exactly right.

We are pretty good when all our top 4 players play in the same game. Depth becomes an issue when one or more of Walker, Tatum, Brown or Hayward are out.

Hopefully Danny Ainge so this during the losing stretch over the last 3 weeks and adds one or two quality players to our top 7. The rookies aren’t ready yet to contribute on a regular basis.

i thought semi played some very good defense tonight on their bigs, he didn't let them back him down in the paint (strong as hell) and when lbj tried to head down steamroll on the break, semi was waiting as a brick wall which caused lbj to stop and set their offense (which was then shut down by our team d)! he did have a couple of bad defensive moments when he first got in but when he found his footing, his defense was stout!

I think we should just be mindful, and not act as we accuse every opposing fan of. We didn't win a title. It means little in the grand scheme of things.

That said, destroying LeBron is beyond fun. And this was a moral/city victory here.

This team shows flashes of being a team that can give the Bucks a competitive series/make some noise in the ECF. Just need to keep it consistent

Holy moly i expected a whipping just the other way around lol.

Kanter started off slow, but WOW has he become an important bench piece or what?

Big game from Tatum. Gordon was aggressive. Team showed TOUGHNESS. Great win!!

Love it when the wings are dialed in defensively and getting steals. That sets the tone for everything, gets some easy buckets, gets the crowd into it, makes the other shots go down better, etc.

Went Jaylen since he started all of that off in the 1st quarter. His D and insane dunk attempt over AD and just competing HARD was sorely needed. I’m fully aware 3 or 4 other guys had better games overall, though.

This. I tried pointing this out earlier in the year and got shouted down. Tighten up the rotation a BIT and the C's thrive. That being said still prefer Javonte to Semi. But the shorter rotation was pure pleasure.

Also Tatum easy VC. Don't believe in giving VCs to the guys that people thought were bad - even if they turn out to be decent. VC should go to the most impactful players. Kanter was good - and has been very good for us. Score one for Danny and zero for the ESPN pundits.

Play of the game

Gotta admit, I was in "here we go again" mode after the first minute of the game but the next 47 were something to behold.

I'm not even mad anymore. He probably left Boston off the list because he didn't want to play with Kyrie's unstable ass.

This may be sour grapes speaking, but honestly I prefer Tatum. Are the Lakers even in the positive when AD is on and Lebron is off? Meanwhile Tatum is our #1 guy by far.

I voted for Kanter, but Tatum also deserves it.
Best play of the game - Brown posterizing Lebron!
Best pass of the game - Smart behind the back for an easy bucket
Best flop of the game? - Too many to choose from by the Lakers.

Lakers are -2.5, w/ AD w/o Lebron.
Celtics are +8.3 w/ Tatum w/o Kemba.

Part of it is having better guys at 3-7 spots. But Tatum defensively has been on another level. Even though a lineup of JT + bench guys couldn't score much, the defense holds up. I don't think AD is the same with lesser guys around him.

Dunno what Lakers plan is post-Lebron, but AD can't carry a team as a primary. Let's just hope Giannis doesn't get dirty ideas for 2021 (LAL books pretty much clean at that point).
