Celtics / Rockets
Hayward, G.Williams (*TPE), R.Williams (*TPE), Ojeleye (*TPE), Wannamaker (*TPE)
for
Capela, House, Nene(*waived), Rivers, Sefolosha, Green(*injured)
For Celtics, they land a very good 25 y/o center that fits with their younger core's timeline well in Clint, this is a guy they will have locked up long term who can bolster the rebounding/defense and add the lob factor, House a serviceable forward on a good contract, Rivers who's a solid backup with enough size to guard 2's.
Rockets take a risk with hopes to improve, Hayward could not work out, opt out and walk in FA, Rockets center position may be too weak for the west with Clint gone, or Hayward could be a great fit, Williams or Hartenstein could step up to fill Clint's shoes. It's a risky deal, Clint is great for Houston, but the team has few ways they could improve, and need to take a gamble and get lucky to ever have hopes for a ring. Wanamaker helps fill Rivers spot, Rockets hope Grant or Semi can step up to the backup 4 spot.
Walker / Rivers / Edwards
Smart / (Brown) / J.Green / Langford
Brown / House / *G.Green
Tatum / Thiess / Sefolosha
Capela / Kanter / Porier
&
Westbrook / Wanamaker / Clemons
Harden / Gordon
Hayward / McLemore
Tucker / G.Williams / Ojeleye
Hartenstein / R.Williams / Chandler

Re: Celtics / Rockets
Hoping that Hayward bounces back AND that Hartenstein can be any sort of replacement for Capela sounds like too many risks to me. I agree that Houston's options are limited but giving up Capela and not having any reliable size in the playoffs sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Extremely small sample size, but in the 5 games Hartenstein has gotten more than 20 minutes in, he's played extremely well with an average of 11.5/11.5/1.5 on 70%. I'd also argue that Hayward has shown this season that he can still play with how efficiently he's shot the ball.
But I agree it's a big risk for Houston, I just think we are in the exact position of needing to take a major risk to improve. I think the potential of Hayward playing well and either Hart or Rob Williams stepping up is enough to take the risk of moving Clint who's undeniably a very good, consistent young player with many good years ahead of him.

If the Rockets were interested in a deal where the frame work was Hayward + filler for Capela + filler, I’m confident a deal could be worked out.

Re: Celtics / Rockets
Houston does not have anything outside of Hartenstien that Boston would really want, much less make up the difference between Capela and Hayward's salary. We had Rivers already and gave him to the Clips for a 2nd rd. pick. We also had Green, and although a decent player, he's be buried on the bench, not to mention he out for the season. No use for Nene or Thabo. We already have a Danuel House, just in training. His name is Romeo Langford. Don't see this having legs unless backing down to other assets than Hayward.

Grant and Rob Williams aren’t filler, though.. Houston wins that trade - Williams would be a great Capela replacement within a year or two - and Grant for Tucker..

Re: Celtics / Rockets
Capela getting very underrated here. I wouldn't touch this for Houston even as in the OP.

And Hayward for Capela isnt fair either. Need to pay up extra value in some form or another.

No idea why Houston would trade him, but if they think Hayward takes their offense to another level, and they’re lukewarm about a rim protecting big vs a floor spacer, and/or optimistic about buyouts..

If the Rockets were willing to do a deal where the framework was Capela for Hayward, I’m confident Ainge would figure out how to add the appropriate filler to get it done.

Re: Celtics / Rockets
If I'm the Rockets and I'm moving Capela, I would want the compensation coming back to get flipped for something else. With the amount Hayward makes that's really hard.
HOU out: Capela, Green, 2020 HOU 1st
HOU in: Holmes, RoCo
SAC out: Holmes, Bogi
SAC in: Capela, Green
MIN out: RoCo
MIN in: Bogi, 2020 HOU 1st
Something like that.

Danuel House also brings some value considering his production and contract, he isn't just filler, Rivers as well to a lesser extent.
I tried to make it as fair as possible, Rob and Grant would be necessary for Houstons depth if a deal like this were to happen. I think this deal would also create a near 14 mill TPE for the Celtics which adds significant value.

Re: Celtics / Rockets
Yeah, I don’t think that’s happening.. take out the Williamses, add Vincent Poirier.. and it still favors Houston. You’d have to find a team or more willing to take all those junk contracts (House, Nene, Rivers, Sefolosha, Green) and send a player of value to Boston..
