No one here is hating Ben Simmons, we all want to see him improve and be assertive on offense consistently, not when he feels like it. Be the star and top 10 player that everyone expect him to be. Is that too much to ask?

“no one here is hating Ben” you said?
There is a reality dysfunction if you believe that, I came to read this forum a few months ago and there is plenty of Ben hate.

Clearly there is a big discrepancy with Simmons' performance on the court and the expectations of him that Sixers fans have. Maybe it’s just not in him (those expectations) and it’s time for both parties to move on? Usually the best thing for a bad relationship is to break up.

Judging by the commentary on this forum and if sixers fans at the games hold the same view and express it. I can’t imagine that Ben is having much fun playing for the Philadelphia 76ers anymore?

So they should just focus on appreciating Ben and not worry about lesser considerations like winning titles?.

Yeah, jumpers are basically out of the question, at this point. I'm fine with just more aggression, in the meantime. January has been the best basketball of his life.

I don’t recall anyone stating they hate Ben. If calling him out to play better and to improve is hate then I got nothing to say.

if people are hating on Ben its because

1. Dude is legit a jumper away from being great and that raises the team's ceiling. This is nothing new as a lot of dudes are...but Ben isn't even trying tho. That makes it hard to not get butthurt.

2. Ben's over zealous fans constantly rush in and want everything to be for his benefit and his benefit only. I could see some out of spite wishing for him to fail so they kick rocks.

3. Some people are still mad salty about the tank...and while the Embiid am hurt jokes are still available...its a lot harder to trash a guy because of injuries and not look like a chode. So ben is the next best target lol

4. AGENDAZ

5. some people are just haters. They will marry haters. and they will have hater kids. Its the way it is.

I went to the Bulls game a few Fridays ago.

Ben came out before warmups and was shooting 3s.

He went 9/10 from one corner. He went 9/12 from the other corner. He moved to the wing halfway between the top of the key and the corner, and he hit 9/10.

So clearly, making the shots is NOT the problem. It's the mentality that he doesn't need to take the shots because he can make a better play without a 3. He can get an assist, get his teammate going, or get to the rim for an easier finish.

I mean, I watched this kid shoot 84% on three point shots. Obviously no defense, and he was relaxed in warmups.

But I can tell you I know some fantastic shooters who couldn't hit 84% in warmups.

So its like...dude...you are a good shooter. Take the shots!

When you have stans coming on and basically , constantly saying Ben is the only thing that matters, hes the best player on the team and everything should revolve around him :-?

Your obviously going to get some push back and swinging of the pendulum.

The true 76ers fans arent going for it.

Yup, it’s not a 1 man sport. It’s a team sport and we want to win the title not personal accolades.

Did I say that? No!

I have no problem if Sixers fans think Ben Simmons is a bucket of dog’s vomit.
It’s the crying and whining like a little girl who scraped her knees that is the annoying part.

Throw out that dog’s vomit, wash the bucket with a hose, then fill the bucket with something that you want, that is going to make you happy.

Objectively reading this forum, one would be justified saying that Ben Simmons is the single biggest factor for elevated blood pressure across Philadelphia.

What about that guy "Dasixers"? He had the hate on pretty good. He was blowing up delux about everything Ben.

I was just going to post the same thing. In the team sport of NBA basketball you guys want a highly talented guy on the team as a result of a number 1 pick which was a result of much suffering who has been carefully nurtured including being given a max extension to address the flaw/flaws in his game which is/are significant for a starting PG on a contending team to realise his potential and play a significant role in winning a championship for the Sixers. How unreasonable.

The only accolades which count are those from the team and the supporters of the team for his contribution to the team imo. I myself admit to being an Australian NBA fan who became interested in the Sixers because of an Australian guy being picked at number 1 by the Sixers, but find it literally incomprehensible that anyone can follow him as a player with no concern for his team, let alone want to frequent, and complain on, a fan forum which is fairly clearly labeled as a Sixers forum rather than a Simmons forum. I personally am only interested in what actual fans of the team think and say about him in any case.

I am more hopeful lately he will get there for the Sixers, the FT thing is big for more than one reason as I and others have said.

He was the guy who was adamant about being PG for the team. As such he has been flawed however huge his talent. The Sixers Center is actually pretty good at doing Center things, and a pretty much automatic All-star selection in that position even if injured.

His FTs and finishing seem to have progressed significantly in the month of January, it is perhaps not unreasonable to wait a little longer for in game jump shots while he hopefully nails those other aspects.

I asked "is that anything like English?"
There was a blank stare for a few seconds but then "oh sorry I meant English" haha...she was very cute.

Sixers fans have high blood pressure right? I'm worried the extra anxiety and stress Ben is giving you guys might clogg the Emergency wards during the play offs.

Yeah I live in Melbourne, Ben's home town.
But I'm from Sydney.

Ok so the club should trade him for a player you want.
Why continue with the pain?
Build around Embiid.

No, they need to integrate both major talents, which might require a new coach, although BB has been better of late.

What part of it being problematic for a team if their point guard is out of options if the situation is one in which the best option for any other PG would be to shoot do you not understand ?.

Melbourne is actually my home town as well but I also live in Sydney; I watched Ben’s father play back in the day.

I am puzzled that a professed Australian does not appear to understand the concept of team sport.
