In combination with the news from hoop central about Houston still wanting Iggy.

According to Lowe and Windhorst. Boston is offering (Theis/Poirier/Romeo/picks) for (Capela)

Houston shed 4m in this deal.

Would have to package 13m for Iggy, 3m for Crowder.

Using the players mentioned by Windhorst & Lowe this following trade works financially.

Boston trade - (Theis, Romeo, Poirier, pick/s) for (Capela)

Houston trade - (Capela) for (Theis, Crowder, Romeo, pick?)

Memphis trade - (Crowder) for (Poirier, 4m TE, pick)

That deal can be beaten. Probably by the Knicks.

I would love to get in on the Knicks potential interest in Russell, to nab Mitchell.

Memphis GSW pick is more valuable to GS than any other team because it allows them to control their fate when the Curry & Klay era would be nearing an end. They would love to get that pick back & I'd be willing to offer it for Robinson.

Just so happens they're rumored to be asking for Robinson's inclusion.

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer,

The Timberwolves recently started talking to Houston Rockets and the Atlanta Hawks about a three-team trade. The Timberwolves would send Robert Covington to the Rockets, Clint Capela would go from the Rockets to the Hawks, and the Hawks would send the Brooklyn Nets’ 2020 first-round pick to the Timberwolves.
All of that was to set up the Timberwolves’ trade offer to the Warriors. They reportedly offered the Nets’ 2020 first-round pick and their own 2020 first-round pick to the Warriors in exchange for Russell, but the Warriors weren’t buying. According to O’Connor, Golden State rejected the offer.

I'd assume in large part to not being enamored with this draft class & not the quantity.

For now, the Warriors are in the driver's seat. Given the position they are in. They are not in a huge hurry to give up Russell as he's the only scorer that's active on the roster. I know that's not saying much given the Warriors predicament. I think the Warriors are just listening right now just to see who's really wants Russell this bad and what said team are willing to do to get him. Between the Knicks and Wolves, I'm favoring the Knicks as they have more assets. However I think it will be the summer when Russell gets move.

Looking at other assets we have in play, and we have a bunch of exceptions that could be used to sure up the team for a playoff run in addition to trading Iggy. Time management gets creative.

Trade Exception $8,000,000
($184,467) Garrett Temple trade with LAC (Jae Crowder $7,815,533) 02/07/2020

Trade Exception $1,512,601
($1,512,601) Shelvin Mack trade with ATL 02/07/2020

Trade Exception $25,011,623
($766,958) Mike Conley trade with UTH (Josh Jackson, $7,059,480; Andre Iguodala $17,185,185) 07/06/2020

Trade Exception $3,440,000
($3,440,000) Kyle Korver trade with UTH 07/07/2020

I'd love to move Crowder or Iggy to Houston, but I doubt it will happen. Still if I'm the Memphis FO I'm calling Houston and offering something like Crowder+2nds for Thabo+Hartenstein+protected 22 HOU 1st(aka whatever two players Houston wants to trade in order to remain under the tax after the deal). I'd aim for top 6-8 protections on the pick so that if Houston is bad they can tank and have a good shot at keeping the pick but Memphis still has a shot at getting the pick if Houston isn't a playoff team that year. Houston then signs a buyout center. Maybe Noah is healthy and looking decent.

If you use those exceptions you are talking about boogiesdad to take in the players Houston sends, we'd have a $7.8m TPE from the above trade and could hit Portland up about taking Hood+Swanigan into it for their 2022 and 2026 2nds. That would get them out of the tax this year and off of Hood's salary for next year.

Minnesota giving up Napier & netting additional pick value puts credence to the rumors of them sending out Wiggins to take in Russell's contract. It's rumored GS want 2 picks for Wiggins contract + Russell's value.

Minnesota could be giving up 4 picks with Wiggins for Russell. One being their 2020 unprotected. Increasing GS's odds of landing Wiseman in Dray's FA year.

Question is, is GS going to keep Wiggins & his contract long term or is the 2 additional picks. A requirement, to move him?.

Can Memphis trade Iggy back to GS?

If they can.

Memphis trade - (Iggy, Crowder) 25m expiring, for (WIggins, 2 FRP's).
or
Memphis trade - (Iggy, Anderson) 17m expiring, for (Wiggins, 2 FRP's).

If they can't

Memphis trade - (Hill, Crowder, filler) 20m expiring for (WIggins, 2 FRP's)

Memphis trade - (Iggy, Hill) for (Wiggins, 2 FRP's, GSW SRP)

Dallas trade - (Lee, GSW SRP) for (Iggy)

GSW trade - (Russell) for (Lee, Hill, Minnesota 2020 unprotected, Nets FRP)

Minnesota trade - (Wiggins, 4 FRP's) for (Russell)

2 picks to dump WIggins salary, 2 picks & expiring's for Russell's value.

Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer is reporting:

The Warriors want future firsts instead of picks in 2020 -- most importantly, they want an unprotected first-round pick in 2021, which will have a much stronger draft class than the one coming this June.
As of now, the Timberwolves aren't budging on Golden State's demands.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-rumors-warriors-want-t-wolves-2021-pick-in-dangelo-russell-trade/ar-BBZGMoJ

Here's what off about this. Minnesota want to pair Russell to contend with Kat, they have their 2020 probably top 5 with GS request for their 2021 unprotected.

You'd think if they had any confidence in their target & direction that Russell & a top 2020 pick would decrease the value of the 2021 pick.

If nothing else, it shows what the Warriors think of the 2020 draft.

I doubt the warriors want to use two picks to dump wiggins. They are likely only getting three picks in the deal to begin with and used two 1sts in order to get Russell (though one will likely convert to a 2nd). They can just hit the Knicks up for picks and young players and likely come out better.

I still don't see the Wolves making out of the DLo sweepstakes alive regardless if they trade for him tomorrow or in the off-season. They just traded away RoCo today as the start up. Will these picks they collect will help them acquire DLo is a long shot at best.

I'm guessing Winslow/Waiters for Iggy/Josh Jackson as part of a three team deal with OKC and MIA.

My concern is how long will Winslow will be healthy again and if he's going to be reliable for the team.

Winslow is a great pick up. Young Swiss Army knife. Can play 4 positions and guard all 5. Was actually the Heat’s starting pg last yr.
