There are 59 NBA players who have attempted 250 or more threes this season. Only JJ Redick has shot a better 3 pt% than Marcus Morris.

Morris doens't change that much, the Clippers always had more firepower overall. The Lakers have a great chance still, 2 amazing players, and who knows how Kawhi's knees and George's knees/shoulder will hold up over a grueling playoffs. Of course AD also has the injury issues, but I'm just saying, any team has a shot against a team with perpetually injured stars.

Regression is a hell of a thing though. Career 37% shooter, this year shooting 6% higher. Will that last? These things have a way of sorting themselves out.

Morris is incredibly streaky as a shooter. He will kill it for 3 months and then go ice cold the next month.

Dang didnt realize 44% on 6 attempts a game from 3 was chucker status. Jordan Crawford wishes he was that efficient.
Once again he is shooting nowhere near that for his career and it is likely an aberration but keep dreaming.
He's improved his 3pt FG% each of the last 4 years.
He's doing it at 6.1 attempts per game.
Do you think the quality of shots he'll get with the Clippers will be worse or better than he got with the NYK, and why?

If he shoots 37-38% on 5+ threes a game he's our 3rd best three point shooter. Harkless shot like 36% on just 2 attempts a game or something around there. It's an upgrade. Also multiple Knicks fans, among others admitted a lot of his shots are contested and defenses are looking for him. Won't be happening on the Clippers with Kawhi/PG/Lou/Trez.

Morris' last 2 seasons with the Celtics is probably the player he'll be with the Clippers, his Knicks stats are inflated.
14p/6r/1a on 44/37/83 splits (4.8 3pt attempts per game) that's still a solid role player and much better than Harkless' 5 ppg.

That's fine, but he's had a long career, and I'll assume regression until he does this for awhile. Very few raise their shooting this much and have it hold, we'll see if it does.

Pretty much what happened last year with him. He shot 41% from 3pt pre-AS game and 30% after.

I don't expect him to maintain 20/5 ish numbers on 44% from 3. I do think it's important to compare to Harkless as you did. Clippers were something like 7-0 when Harkless scores double digits, which rarely happened. What that tells me is when the Clippers get production from their 4th or 5th guy... they tend to win.

People are underrating Morris. This guy is on a mission this season. He’s been a leader on our team this season and has been clutch. He’s solely responsible for at least half our wins. Heck, our last two games we won just because Morris hit back to back clutch baskets to put us ahead, IN BOTH GAMES.
He is going to be great on the Clippers with more spacing and less responsibilities.

Yeah no **** which is why it’s impressive how efficient Morris has been even with teams knowing he’s our only competent offensive player.
Half of his 3pt shots are contest and he’s still making them. He’s getting double teamed and he’s still converting. Imagine what he’ll be like next to PG and Kawhi lol

Lmao am I missing something here? We are talking about Marcus Morris.
Don’t think the Clippers needed this move to match up with anyone. If they did it to stop the Lakers from getting him, I get it. But the Lakers were never gonna give up Kuzma and Green for him. He would have just been another dude standing in the corner waiting for the 3, and made them more stagnant on offense.

what regression? this marcus morris is going to bring his 43% 3pt shooting straight into the playoffs and win them the championship. this is like straight up guaranteed. the vegas odds are against this not happening.
