Miles in the Rising Stars Game has had the best All-Star Weekend performance by any Hornets player since Glen Rice in 1997- he literally took over in the third quarter.

That’s exactly what I thought of when that happened. Awesome to see one of our guys win it!

This dude tries hard as hell. Good for him.

Your lack of awareness on defense is still an incredible problem though.

I think Bridges problems/opportunity on D is the same Henderson’s was:

When they are defending someone who has the ball they are pretty good.

It’s when the player they are defending doesn’t have the ball that they falter.

They aren’t as engaged off ball relying on their athleticism to make up for it. That sets them up to be beat because before they know it their opponent has a half step on them and they are left to play catch up - which rarely works out well.

Henderson was a great man defender but an atrocious team defender.

His “defensive stopper” label coming out of college was grossly overrated.

he was still a dahntay jones tier defender. there may be a handful of true lockdown defenders in the league at any given time. that title of "defensive stopper" was hard to achieve then and harder to achieve now with how the rules are against defenses anyways

ijs you could throw henderson at a guy and at least know that he'd be slowed down or affected. can miles get there? sure. is he? nah

We’ve had a train of “defensive stoppers” come through here that were really just bad to decent NBA players. Anyone remember B-Rob? And more recently that other Graham dude. MKG had that label too but if that were true he’d have been playing the last two seasons.

Miles isn’t a superstar and probably isn’t becoming one and at this point that is fine. He has good size, strength and athleticism... can play a switch heavy defense and is becoming a good open three point shooter. That’s super valuable in this league.

I think that’s why he is often given the better and most ball dominant opponent

Very nice award for Bridges and to a degree the Hornets. Glad we did not trade him for pennies on the dollar earlier this month.

Miles Bridges is the biggest bust on our team. The guy is huge but he plays so soft. Reminds me of Kelvin Benjamin.

Why can't he play like Zion?

He was playing well before the break IIRC

Next year is make or break. If he doesn't break out then we need to look for a replacement SF
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

for one, he'd have to gain like 60 pounds to play that physical.

Bridges is coming off a decent year.

Basically 13/6/2 while shooting 33% from deep.

I could easily see him getting to 18 ppg in two years. If he can increase his three point shooting to 36% it will be easy. He has the body to be a good defender, think he will keep getting better on that end.

Him and PJ give us flexibility to play small and both are pretty switchable. These are types of guys playoff teams would love.

Worst case is he doesn’t improve his jumper much and gives you 25 good mins a night on a playoff team backing up SF/PF.

I'd settle for Miles playing well for a solid month.

He's been in the league too long to have an identity crisis every time he catches the ball and there is no reason he should be as poor of a defender as he is. Dude is way too strong be to so averse to contact too... Wouldn't be surprised if either of the Martin twins lapped him this year tbh
