I didn’t know Guy could jump. That was impressive.

Fox’s defense has slipped this year, as you can tell by the advanced stats. And his leadership sorely lacks. As good as it is that he has shown some individual offense, the fact that the nba audience at large no longer discusses him in the Morant/Young circles is a strike against his development

Just has not been a good year for Fox/Bagley, which means it may be another build

This summer, I’d make a pitch for VanVleet before matching on BOgi. Just a winner, that I feel can play with Fox too (pending on draft moves)

Fox’s career arc feels D’Angelo Russell type, at this stage. Both could have better motors, influence on games. IMO both could play with other lead guards. I wonder what type of contract De’aaron will command. I’d match in RFA if reasonable. But no way you give a max, or close to, for the impact of games I’m seeing

Glad to see Mika brought in again. I’ve been saying the entire time he is an nba caliber big. I’d give him a multiple year minimum contract

In Stockton, SL, etc, he screams rotation big. I don’t know why we haven’t signed him yet.

Because it made sense to sign him. That’s against the Kings brand.

I think Fox is closer to third year John Wall than third year D'Angelo Russell. Still showing that star potential but hard to say anything conclusive about Fox this season due to the injury. By next season it should be clear if Fox is a legit franchise cornerstone.

Since I wrote that post, I’ve liked what I’ve been seeing lately from Fox a lot better. Really becoming better at controlling offense and finding guys lately.

Interesting that this story came out.

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/257201/Kings-Ownership-Supported-Drafting-Luka-Doncic

Why would the Kings ownership acknowledge this? Seems like it would undermine Divac.

Also, the 3 guys who agreed to draft BAgley are all former players? Maybe GM and other front office personnel shouldn't all be former players, especially since analytics is associated with front office execs with different backgrounds than as players -- e.g. they are stats nerds.

I haven’t read the article, but from what I hear, seems positive that Vivek isn’t perceived as still meddling and is not happy with current management. That’s good. So I’ll expect a change this summer

The Buddy stuff I hope isn’t true. The guy annoyingly has been better off the bench and the team is better with him there, now he’s potentially pressing that issue?

Good on Buddy for winning the 3pt contest considering he's our only representative for the weekend!

De’aaron is improving as a game manager.

Watching Bazemore has me really hesitant to keep Bogdan and Buddy for so much money. Neither of those guys make any hussle play. We need more dogs on this team. Bazemore has been so helpful to us doing all of the little things.

I’m thinking Buddy will be moved this summer at this rate

My pipe dream scenario is Buddy + Bagley + our FRP for [insert disgruntled star player]. Someone like Booker, Beal, or Simmons.

If the Kings don't find a legit way for Bogdan and Buddy to work together the likely option is Buddy demanding a trade. And that would be horrible for a team that clearly can't afford to lose his talent considering this is a catch and shoot league for any team not dumb enough to see it. The best option is the team wins out, storms into the playoffs and they can get Bogdan to buy back in and re-sign and Buddy gets real starters minutes off the bench. This 24 mpg bs will end up costing the Kings. They have to find more minutes for the guards and less for the bigs.

This is the issue with any potential scenario. Number 1, that's a waaaay overpay for any of those guys. Number 2 Beal and Booker play the same spot as Bogdan and need the ball to thrive. Bogdan to his credit has backed off running the offense and is letting Fox run most of the show. Booker and Beal, and definitely Simmons ain't doing that.
