To me, Michael Lee sounds goofy - like a fanboy. Beal's a pro and wants to win - presumably like most NBA players. So he shouldn't be just having a good time out there when they're losing.

I didn't read it but free m the tweets I take it from a guys who watched this kid grow up and he's just concerned for the kid. Maybe I'm reading it wrong but I don't take it as he expects him to be happy about loosing but he just wants the kid to try to make the best of it for his.own good.

Chase Hughes points out that Beal is a model citizen unlike Arenas. Unfortunately, gun-gate overshadowed Arenas' community work. While he did not win a season long award like Beal, he did win the monthly award when he was playing.

That's an interesting take.

I feel like Beal's development accelerated the moment John Wall got hurt.

Beal is probably better when alongside Wall so he can get a few easy looks, but I think he developed into the primary scoring threat he is today only because Wall was gone.

Wow! That really was a good read. Beal is a man who has his priorities straight. What a great guy!

I'm guessing that Beal feels that Wall's presence early in his career, among other things, gave him time to grow as a ballhandler, distributor and penetrator without being the focus of the other team's D...as he is now. On top of that, a lot of Beal's early success as a scorer was a direct result of open looks created by Wall, especially on 3s off the break.

I agree that Wall's absence has allowed BB to develop into the primary scoring threat. I'm really looking forward to seeing Wall teamed with the new and improved Beal.

I think if we get the team ball assist leader wall back with a better 3 ball and less hero ball I think we will be a much better team and Brad and bertains will get much better playing with him .

Right now I would say I was wrong.

It's also great to see that BB has raised his FT shooting from a career # of 80.6% to 84.5% this season. He is currently 8th in the league in FT attempts for the season.

No you weren't. Beal is good, but Lillard is better.

I think he's only doing it because he's not been alongside Wall. There's no way to be like James Harden if the ball's not primarily in your own hands. Usage, and the Mamba mentality have coincided with sole alpha status.

Wall doesn't make Beal worse (or better) at this point in their careers. He does affect touches and FREE THROWS. Those buggers are putting Beal among the best scorers.

I agree.

Beal is a very solid human being.

I hate to be negative but I can't see him and John (who i also think is a good man) winning together. (Not unless the Wizards get Onkongwu (or Jalen Smith)
and Azubuike, who will be a steal in round two.

If the Wizards add defense and rebounding...Beal's championship hopes in DC are a lot more likely.

Beal is a guy who will be very successful post-NBA. He will become an executive. He's got IT, whatever that is.

About the article: I lived just outside of Saint Louis (Belleville IL is adjacent to East STL) in the 90s. I recall Darius Miles (he bowled at Fairview Heights lanes and so did I) as a HS player. Larry Hughes was at SLU, playing for the Billikens. David Lee (not sure when or on details) came out of the same high school as Beal, Chaminade. My cousin and my best friend are both in St Louis. Divorced my daughter's mom in STL. Met the woman who had my two sons when I lived there. (Yeah. I married her, too, and eventually divorced. If I had a mulligan I never would have made that mistake.) Dated someone else in between. Love trifecta there. :)

Seems like I have a hell of a lot of memories about St Louis. Nice area.

I'd say Harden, Lillard and maybe Westbrook or Luka.

Chris Paul too.

That's 5 guys. I really do think Beal will make that last spot on the All-NBA 3rd Team.

Wizards are built to be Buck hunters next year. Beal + Rui excel at hitting their only weakness.
