Mid season bump, mainly because someone in Boston gamethread said no-one predicted we'd be third in East and I thought a few of us did

I sure didn't. I wanted to get to the second round. Now I'd be disappointed if we're not playing for the ECF.

RexBoyWonder wrote:1) How many wins will the Heat have in the 2019-2020 season?

53 wins

2) Will we make the playoffs this year? If yes - what seed will we be?

Yes, 3rd seed

3) Who will be our top 4 leading scorers, and what will their PPG be?

Jimmy Butler 18.7 ppg
Justise Winslow 15.2 ppg
Bam Adebayo 14.8 ppg
Tyler Herro 12.3 ppg

4) Who will be our best overall new addition (new at Miami)?

Jimmy Butler

5) Who will be our best overall young player (not including Dion)?

Bam Adebayo

6) Which player will make the biggest improvement from last year?

Bam Adebayo

7) Who will be the biggest disappointment?

James Johnson hardly plays

8) What trades will we end up doing during the year (or even before the season starts)?

Move Dion in some lateral move just to get rid of his whining when he loses mins to Tyler Herro.

9) What will be the biggest surprise of the season? (positive or negative or both)

Herro becomes a rotation player. Dion is healthy and plays well.

10) What will our board posters write about Spo once this season is over?

Same thing they write every year, Spobot, player not getting minutes needs minutes etc

11) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player.

Justise is only player to average his ppg, rpg, apg and 3pt%.

12) Predict the weirdest moment of the season.

Dion tirade in media over benching.

13) Predict a RealGM Heat-board development you expect to see with a long time poster/s.

Meh

14) What will you consider a success/failure this year?

Either making a leap with a proper orca or not jeopardizing the chance to do so in the off season is a success. Failure is doing the opposite

15) What will be the biggest factor to impact our success or failure this year?

Youth actually being committed to and living up to promise

16) Bonus playoff question - How far will we get in the playoffs and how will our season end?

2nd round. 4-2 loss

I reckon outside of 3, 7, 8 and 11, I am right in the ballpark on all of these.

Basically I did't foresee Justise being out most of the season, didn't predict Nunn to be our second top scorer, neglected Goran a little as a scorer.

So my top 4 scorers are wrong (Jimmy, Bam and Herro I had close, but had Justise in there and not Goran and Nunn, Justise could still get there at the expense of Dragic and Nunn maybe in the second half)

I was pretty accurate on JJ as a disappointment but I think fair to say Winslow or Dion is the biggest disappointment now (I'd say Winslow)

8 can still come off if Dion is traded this week

11 could still happen in the second half for Justise, but he'd have to catch fire from 3

JJ already disappointed, so the next person on the list will be KO. He’s too small to be a C, too slow to be a PF.

11) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player.

Winslow shoots over 43% from 3.

I was way off on 7 & 11.

KO is not the biggest disappointment this season, my subscription to NBA season pass (and the lack of games) has been the biggest disappointment.

As for 43% 3 point percentage, it’s actually Winslows 2 point percentage. Awful season for the guy. Make a freakin layup.

Goodboy comes close to a banner, but can’t achieve the wins necessary.

I had thought I was way off-base with 43-39, but Heat are 35-20 now, with 27 games to play. They need to go 8-19, which no longer seems impossible.

Bump. With 20 games left and 40 wins tallied, the Heat are now right in the range of wins we all thought possible. If they go 14-6 though, we will all have been wrong.

As things stand, you might just be right again. 41 wins. You overshot it by a bit.
