Chinese Basketball Association Postpones Restart From April 15 To May

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Mar 25, 2020 3:01 pm

The Chinese Basketball Association has delayed the restart of its season from April 15th to May after failing to receive approval from the government.

Chinese officials were affected by abandoned restarts of leagues in Japan and South Korea and over continued concern over COVID-19 in recent days. The delay of the Olympics also contributed to the decision.

The CBA is now looking at a four-month delay.

Many sports leagues view the CBA situation as a trial balloon for when their leagues can resume.

The NBA is hoping to restart at some point in late May or early June.

Does that mean all of the American born players who went over there for the start of the season are now stuck?

I hope Lin is cozy in that gym.

Any American or other foreign player would be crazy to go back to the country that gave us all this virus

I honestly can't imagine why he went back, dude has made tens of millions in the nba, a lifetime ban from the cba...and Chinese sponsors (which honestly...are limited at this point) who cares? Now he's stuck there. He already headed back home after the first stoppage, then he thinks A.there will be a season. B. Its worth risking his health AndC. Its financially worth it.

Did he really go to Harvard?

Unreal.

They can get the virus from any country, even here in the US. One could argue that it is safer in China than in the US when it comes to contracting Corona.

and it is my understanding that these guys play basketball as their profession, meaning that they get paid if they play and don't get paid if they don't pay. Some of them might even have a family to feed and bills to pays.
