Had the same experience with eggs being off the shelves at a Metro in Etobicoke yesterday. Also noted the same thing with 2% milk at the same metro last week, but luckily they had some yesterday.

My guess is because eggs are required to bake. And they can last up to a month

I’ve also heard that many people are making their own pasta....which I believe would require eggs

Cynical but true. The ironic thing is that human intellect is what created all the guardrails and safety nets for stupid people to not only survive, but thrive. And eventually, it will be an overpopulation of stupid people that brings down the human race once it hits a critical mass.

Egg/milk/toilet paper hoarding lol so many idiots. Good thing I’m good on TP now and don’t consume eggs/milk. Plenty of fruit and veggies though. Fatties and idiots.

Some of you guys are just filled with too much hate.

I bought enough eggs, milk, fruits and veggies to last me at least a couple weeks. More than my usual grocery visit.

Why? Pretty simple really. Because my family and I are staying at home. Just like a lot of other people. As everyone who can should be. We are trying to minimize how many times we go out. I thought that was the point.

Some of these perishables last a month. Eggs, Lactose free milk, cheese, deli, apples, oranges, etc...

Maybe I have been lucky here in Mississauga but I haven't had any trouble with grocery store stock.

People need be more empathetic during these times.
Just because you're able to find the basic items you need doesn't mean people aren't trying hard enough to find the same basic items. If you're fortunate enough to grab a hold of the things you need, good for you. It sucks that in other parts of the country people are having a harder time getting their necessities, and therefore can understand the frustration.

To the people having a hard time getting what you need, I would suggest going an hour after the store opens because the store usually reserve their opening hour for seniors. I find that items are much more available the earlier the time.

Sites like well.ca also provide some things that your local drugstore/pharmacy can't provide, but again you need to order early because stocks get replenished pretty quickly.

Ive been looking for hand sanitizer since January and ive yet been able to find it anywhere.

I noticed as soon as the outbreak happened in China its dissapeared off store shelves. Rubbing Alcohol is increasingly hard to find as well.

What a heartless post. Do you have any relatives with down syndrome, psychological impairments, etc? Maybe that lady had psychological issue like schizophrenia or paranoia? Are you an advocate of eugenics btw?

Two weeks of groceries is like a normal visit. We’re talking actual hoarders

BC is banning the resale of hoarded and high demand supplies.

This is great news. IMO the death penalty is too good for these greedy hoarders who's hoarding emergency supplies and trying to resell them at a profit during a time of medical emergency and a pandemic where the most vulnerable people in our society and health workers are dying.

All it would take to see the true, dirty colour of human beings as a whole, rejected species would be to....eliminate electricity.

In my case, 2 weeks of groceries now is much different from 2 weeks of groceries before covid 19.

My wife was at Walmart by warden/eglinton and managed to get hand sanitizer. The caveat - it's at the cashiers counter and you have to ask for it. I think they only give you one bottle as well. Hoarders are still going after that strong.

I don’t know what’s true about a disease targeting mostly the elderly having anything to do with genetics, natural selection or being a moron ...because your old. And it’s not the endlessly and stupid spreading it but that will suffer from it.

The "cynical" post tried to sound deep and intellectual, but really comes off as cringey and nonsensical.
And I typed out "cynical" in quotes because it's a whole lot of gibberish.
In the end, reminded me of this:
