In Memory of Jackie Towns

Post#1 » by KGdaBom » Tue Apr 14, 2020 10:14 pm

I have an idea and I'm clueless how to do it, but maybe we as a board could do something in her memory. Send some flowers or make a donation to COVID19 relief efforts. Could somebody who knows how to organize these things help? We could all pitch in $5-10-25 whatever and maybe come up with a couple hundred bucks. Would one of those fund me things work? Just as a way to show we do care.

You should try to take this to twitter and get in contact with someone like Jeff Munneke who is the VP of Fan Experience. You'll find more people to contribute as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I do want it to be from the RealGM Wolves Board.

I don't know how to either but I'm willing to contribute. I have felt awful about it, follow KAT since he has been with us and he's such a warm guy. Deveasting to see this happen. I don;t think he will ever be the same, any little light when can bring to that family would help.

In. I think donation to relief efforts or similar would be most impactful.

Munneke didn't call me back and now I suspect it will be Monday at the soonest.

Munneke never got back to me. I'm not sure if it's too late to do anything or not.

Hmmm. It's a tough situation. Maybe we can do something whenever the season comes back. Don't know how but maybe it will be easier to arrange something then.

I don't know how to act best now.
Maybe indeed some kind of donation to honor her or some kind of social media thing, where we post pics of our international fanbase with some words for KAT or something (along with a donation maybe).
But yeah maybe it's kind of too late now.

RIP again for KAT's Mom on Mothers Day. Still so sad for KAT and his family.

I looked around for a good place to make my 10,000th post and this is the place.

By all accounts Jackie Towns was a wonderful human being.
Our star player Karl-Anthony Towns will be playing this season with a very heavy heart.
Maybe to honor her he will be inspired to play better than ever before.
I truly want to do something in her honor and I didn't get the help from the Timberwolves that I requested.
I will try again. Maybe we make our statement for the season opener.
I know this is old news, but it still matters. Can you all comment here if you're still with me on doing something.

To all those I discuss, debate and argue with that helped me get to this ridiculous amount of posts thank you very much.
Go Wolves!! this is our time.

I'm not sure that wrangling together a donation plate for a family that has no need for financial help is necessary just to get your condolences across. KGd, maybe you could start a group Ecard (openme.com, groupgreeting.com) that would allow a group to convey condolences. If you can find one that only needs a link for others to get to it to sign before sending it might work. Not sure who you would send it to, or if they weren't already overwhelmed with such condolence cards. Whether Towns ever reads anything here or not you've conveyed your thoughts on their loss.

There has been 1,949 recorded deaths from Covid in MN. I believe more unrecorded as Covid related.
I think AZ where you've said you are from has 5,290 deaths from Covid. Every area it appears.

A lot of people and families are suffering from this.

Thanks for the thought. I know that KAT personally has no financial need, but it's a gesture that we do put something financial into it. We were thinking about a donation to a charity of KAT's choice. I called a guy named Munneke back when KAT's mom died. He's like a Timberwolves public relations guy. I was hoping he would provide me with useful information regarding how to go about this and the designated charity. He never got back to me. Your idea is good as well.

Man I really hope his family members lost their fight due to something other than genetics, KAT is such a nice person he doesn't deserve the hell he's gone through in the last year.
