Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
I'd do that deal.
In the very least, the product will be improved. Both Harris and Hield can be decent creators if given freedom to do so. And obviously the spacing speaks for itself.
I love the structure of Buddy Hield's contract, too. He becomes a better and better trade chip with each de-escalating phase.

I agree that this team needs a wing scorer with an outside shot to be respected but I'd be wary regarding Hield. His ceiling may be high but he has ego and immaturity issues. Sac town fans seem to like his game at times but not the baggage. In principle I would agree. He was benched late in games and then relegated to an off the bench role (on a bad team no less) for his poor shot selection, his lack of effort on the defensive end and his public pouting. Maybe he can grow up some on another team like ours (and he'd have to in demanding Philly) but I'd need some sort of assurances before I took him on.
We can only trade Simmons once. With all due respect, if we're up for trading him I'd want to check out all other possibilities first. Perhaps we can get a Beal or a Booker with Simmons (or even a Mitchell or Lavine for example) that IMO would be a much better player and fit addressing the spacing and matchup issues.

He proposed Horford/Thybulle. You wouldn't take the good with the bad with Hield (plus a lotto pick) for being able to offload Horford?
If that was a typo and he meant Simmons, I agree, no way am I doing that deal.

Is a Simmons/Mitchell trade even possible?
Utah's contract situation makes it hard to get up to Ben's $29m.

No I must have misread. Horford/Thybulle for a bratty Hield and a pick (near mid round i suppose) would be an upgrade. Thanks

You're right. Matching salaries would be difficult. Perhaps some sort of three way but not likely. Just looking for the best return for Simmons. My first choice is Beal if he could be had although Wizards are expecting Wall back next season and I'm not sure how those two ball centric players would fit. Second choice would be Booker. Not far fetched at all to think Phoenix would see Simmons as a better draw and FA magnet than Booker and that deal works straight up (although I'd probably take the opportunity to expand the deal with other assets to help each squad). Nice catch.

Yeah, it's hard to trade Simmons for a rookie contract player unless that team had a bad contract they want to unload.
De'Aaron Fox is possible (Harrison Barnes).
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is possible (Steven Adams).

Chucking a Hail Mary at Morey for James Harden should at least be attempted.
There's rumors that Tilman Fertitta had already tossed some ultimatums around when he took over.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
Never thought about whether or not he'd be available and of course we're only speculating as to what Houston might do this off season but if we could get Harden in a Simmons plus deal it would be a true game changer. The rest of the conference would be looking up at us. As great a player as Harden is for years I had my concerns that too much of the offense had to revolve around him. But that opinion has changed seeing how well he's shared the rock with Westbrook, another player who wants and needs the ball a lot. Very encouraging since he'd be paired with Embiid. A killer one two punch.
KH, I'd worry with the Rockets devoid of big men, that Morey would be more interested in Embiid for Harden. I know this is a fantasy trade scenario but let's go with it for a moment since we're stuck at home without any real game action to discuss. Could we realistically counter with Simmons, Horford and or Harris and change for Harden and change?

I honestly don't think Morey even wants a big. And a switchable 6'10" defensive phenom like Ben Simmons is his wet dream and would allow him to go C-less for a decade.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
Playing all small ball all the time has short term appeal and some success but I believe is a poor strategy long term especially in the playoffs. Games slow down, become more physical, refs letting more go, and this only ratchets up in the later rounds. But for our conversation (fantasy trade to bring Harden to Philly) I'm happy to oblige Morey and offer a package featuring Simmons. This deal works in trade checker
Simmons and Horford for Harden and Tucker. (They get a big anyway in the deal but a skilled one)

A lot of these bigs are getting chased out of playoff series these days. The dunk and block guys that can't move in space have been rendered ineffective (Gobert and Capella).

Oklahoma City is already asking for a 1st round admission fee to trade Chris Paul. If we're asking them to take back a bad asset like Tobias Harris, they're going to demand even more draft capital.

I think there'd be more interest league wide in Harris deal than CP3s. He's way overpaid, but he's a quality starter that I think a lot of teams would look at as a quality, long-term 3rd option. The contract clearly nosedives his value, but I think there are teams that would be comfortable with that money.

Bleacher Report suggesting a sign-and-trade of Brandon Ingram for Joel Embiid be made.
There's some logic in the proposal.

Do we also get Jrue Holiday and Jaxson Hayes?

If we could somehow wrangle Alexander-Walker into the deal, it becomes even more appealing.

Is there though? Trading a top-10 player for a marginal bucket getter feels like an awful idea to me.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
Brandon Ingram is rapidly-approaching being an elite level shotcreator. That's pretty unheard of at his 6'9" size. He's virtually unguardable right now and he hasn't even turned 23 yet.
Unless you think taking Embiid away from this team crumbles it to pieces, it's worth considering.
