never been a fan of small point guards if their coming off the bench no problem but not as a starter 6'3-6'4 is ideal.

Strap in. This will be the longest offseason of all time.

Or the shortest depending on whether or not they restart the season.

I doubt anything restarts for the Pistons though.

As much as I hate it, I want Ball (higher on him than Wiseman). I think that he has upside. The point guard spot is harder to find. I don’t see sending out Kennard for a low first at this time.

I am watching Utah Denver play. Looking at Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray and thinking that a Dennis Smith could be comparable to either one of them. Couple of questions. Would you do a Dennis Smith for Luke Kennard straight up. Do you think the Knicks would accept that deal. That is assuming the Pistons don't get a first or second pick in the draft and decide to go lamelo or Killian Hayes.

Absolutely not for the Pistons. Dennis Smith was the worst player on this season's Knicks, who were collectively a trainwreck as a team. The Knicks would probably be thrilled to get anything at all of value in return for him right now.

Smith is an egotistical malcontent who has athleticism and talent but shows no sign of putting everything together.

Love the idea of getting a buy-low guy, but Luke has way more value at this point. I'd hope we can get him for less (unless we know that Lukes knees are completely shot...). I would consider dangling Bruce Brown if anything.

DSJ seems like a good target if we strike out on point guards...throw him into the fire next year as a starter, take our lumps, see if he improves, if not, draft a PG in a better draft.

Never thought I would see Dennis compared to either of those two. So my answers;

1 no
2 in a heartbeat

Smith isn’t really a pg, never a 2 guard. Also has enough nba experience for teams to see what they are getting.

I’m hoping Cleveland chooses another pg and offers garland for kennard. Unless we can get a decent pick for Luke.

If I was the gm of the pistons and New York offered Knox and smith for snell, I would consider that but I would probably cut smith as soon as he didn’t fit

It was said of Chauncey Billups that he wasn't a point guard either. As far as being a malcontent would you have refused to trade for Rasheed Wallace. Maybe Luke is too much to give up for Dennis Smith but Dennis has some skills. Good organizations find talent at the end of other teams benches and knows how to unlock it. The question becomes is Dennis skilled, talented enough to Target

DSJ seemed to be on the up and up when he was in Dallas...Funny how a young guy with potential goes to the Knicks and flounders, right???????

Detroit needs to find some diamonds in the rough. If we don't have to give up much, why the hell not?

I do agree with the Knicks being part of the issue, so he might just be a change of scenery guy

Chauncey had Brandon to mentor him though.

DSJ has had no one.

If it came at a very low cost I'd take a shot at him. Pretty sure the Knicks would be happy to dump his salary on us.

Yeah Kennard is way to much to give up. Id give them our lakers 2nd for DSJ.

Loved him in that draft. If he could put it together he'd be pretty damn good.

Maybe a guy like Rose/Blake and even Dwayne Casey could mentor him.

Honestly think the Knicks would be happy to dump him - we might get a 2nd out of them for helping them clear extra space.

DSJ is the kind of guy we should be looking at:

Young, talented so what's the real underlying issue?

Is it him or has there been other things going on?

Do the research, get some good young guys and let Rose & Griffin mentor them.

Invest in development!

We don't have a single foundation stone yet and one isn't likely coming through the 2020 Draft.

So go to the scrap heap - you never know what you might find

Kennard and Wood are two younger guys we need to give the keys to next season. It sounds like Blake has already accepted the idea of helping mentor the young guys to really give this team a chance to move forward. I think it would be foolish to trade our pick or Kennard we need to continue the youth movement not try to trade young assets to make a playoff push.
