He is saying the right things and his game reflects it. I like him and he would fit in well with the Raptors.
The more I watch Perry, the more I think he fits the raptors:
Perry is a pretty interesting prospect, here's all the information I've managed to gather on him
- 6'9, 7ft wingspan 8'10 standing reach makes him about as big as Julius Randle, Horford or Richauln Holmes
- Played nearly exclusively PF at Mississipi which would affect his PNR roll man numbers and rim protection numbers
- Looks pretty mobile, should be able to switch, hedge and blitz in the NBA fine
Here's his offensive synergy profile
- Good handle and perimeter game showed in high school and in flashes at college and team USA, but Mississippi used him as a traditional post scorer, more than letting him play the perimeter, Could argue he was misused pretty badly here even though he was one of the better post scorers in the SEC
- Inconsistent passer, sometimes makes really high level passes other times just misses the open man completely and forces up bad shots he didn't need to.
- The same theme with his defense, it appears he can be really good when he recognizes what to do, but its the actual recognition that's the problem on both ends
- Plays really hard on the court, can get too emotional or caught up in the moment
I think his perimeter game flashes are really interesting, he made all kinds of crazy passes and shots when he was allowed too. Seems like a less talented Bam Adebayo. Who needs strong coaching to succeed.
Some highlights of his perimeter game
