They’re going to cancel the season. This virus is highly contagious and can last in the body for weeks. They said they won’t cancel games if someone gets it but it’s going to ruin teams if a few starters get it during the playoffs.

Can you imagine the asterisk that Lakers fans would want on the championship if LeBron catches it and is forced to miss a series against the Clippers?

I wish the season is cancelled too. I want to see the teams starting make moves and scouting draft prospects. Now the dead period? No team can do anything. Waste of time. I'd rather next season starts on time.

It was great to see those 90s Magic teams on the Last Dance tonight, specially beating MJ, not so much the next year lol. Also thought the Kemp-Payton Sonics was great. Seattle was always my West team. Man I hope they come back soon. Finally went out to Seattle last October, thankfully before all this virus stuff. Beautiful town. Always had an affinity for Seattle through the Supersonics and Frasier. Went to a Seahawks game (gotta be top 5 venues in the NFL). #BringBackTheDamnSonics (ignore the typo in the tweet, stupid twitter and their no edit)

For me, this is easily the greatest single play in Magic history.

p.s. I have always believed Grant was fouled on his dunk.

Yeah, I used to root for Sonics in the West and Magic in the East too.

BTW, I had these two caps, but Orlando was the blue one (not black) and Seattle was black... Good times!

I can only imagine the current Magic trying to make this play. Isaac steals the ball, gives it to AG who takes it himself and is called for an offensive foul, or gives it to Fournier who misses a layup in which he jumps 2 centimetres off the ground

Haha or.....
Isaac steals the ball AG streaks down the sideline setting up for an automatic alley oop from Fultz But as Isaac attempts the hit ahead pass to Fultz, Fournier intercepts the pass and dribbles the ball off his knee as he crashes down to the floor and the ball rolls out of bounds.

Miss the old Oreana man. Just much more intimate and set up for basketball. Sold out to cooperate America in the new place, I get it though without it we probably won't have a team. The atmosphere is just completely sucked out of the gym, it's more set up for concerts and events then basketball. Just too much else going on in the arena and it's not on top of the players like the other gym. It's going happen everywhere else to when they upgrade their digs. GS used to be praised for their crowd, but as soon as they take a dip for a long period of time (this year was flukey) that new place is going be lifeless. It's just not a basketball gym, it's an entertainment venue.

Again. I'd rather have a team and a lifeless atmosphere then end up like Seattle. If we get back into consistent playoff basketball or a stud superstar it will light up again, but not like the old place. :(

Well: the players like the facilities in the Amway Center. And the new arena has been a recruitment tool in and of itself.
Plus it is closer to Church street.

I was at that game. I remember being terrified because I thought the whole row behind me was going to trample us. That old arena smelled like cheese steak, stale beer, and shame... I loved it.

Watching "The Last Dance", I'm reminded of the "Positional Length" the Bulls had and, obviously, Magic are striving for as a key characteristic. Jordan, Harper, Pippen are all exceptionally long and agile at their positions. I don't know how Rodman, who was undersized at his spot (for the times), measures out but he certainly played longer than anyone in the league with his mastery of tips to himself and others and his immeasurable effort for loose balls and rebounds. Obviously, different time with obligatory 7 footers in the middle, but still has some lessons. I would LOVE to see AG transform into a Rodman-type, focusing on extra possessions and put backs, relying on opportunistic offense rather than trying to put the ball on the floor. I've said this for years- would love to just see him crash the offensive boards and jam everything back like Dominique...just be a disruptive menace athletically on both ends.

I think that if Gordon had a true Jordan on the team, he would embrace that role and thrive. Isaac has such a similar background to Pippen, being a guard who had a huge growth spurt. The difference being that Pippen seemed to remain a more fluid and natural ballhandler, but I think Isaac will settle in to being reliable on that front at least.

We just need Fultz to become Jordan, or we need to somehow miraculously land one, and we could have our very own mini-Bulls. Just need Phil or someone to come teach them the triangle.

The Last Dance has made me incredibly interested in seeing a documentary explore the mentality of 'the best'. You can clearly see that Jordan just has a different mindset to most people. I'd like to know if LeBron, Kobe, Durant, Curry, Pierce, KG, Dirk, Duncan, Magic, Bird etc - did/do they all share the same mentality, or different flavours of it? When did they grow into that, and how? etc, etc.

In a league that's dominated by singular talents more often than not, it would be a very interesting topic to explore.

I also think that if Clippers and Lakers are not the strongest teams in nba right now, season would be cancelled already :dontknow:

It's already mid May, even if everything goes smoothly and early June you can re-open everything, players still need 2-3 weeks camps, so we are already talking about July. What a hell they are going to do ? Play back to back playoff games in empty arena ? It's like tournament , not nba playoffs.

Imo i would just make a tournament of 30 teams and not call it "nba championship" but something like "NBA 2019-2020 cup" or something like that ,or simply cancel it all together.

Question:

Do you rate Hield as substantially better than Fournier?

Anyhow: your question has merit as the Kings and the Magic are both up and comers with unbalanced rosters. They have every reason to consider a dollar-for-dollar equal trade that balances respective rosters.

Any trade starts with Gordon and Hield. Orlando needs to absorb a bad contract and add its 2020 FRP. But if Fournier opts out, I think this could be quite interesting as a start to a 2020/21 roster decision.

Are Fultz and Isaac untouchable for trade?

Dwight Howard will be a Free Agent this upcoming offseason. Is there a chance he could be back with Orlando? I know he burned the bridge when he asked for a trade and got traded. But that is in the past, should we welcome him to complete his legacy? Could be a solid contributor especially since Bamba might get into the trade talk this upcoming offseason

I'd like to see the league run a mini tournament for the #8 seed in each conference, putting teams 9-12 in a sudden death tournament that ends in the winner battling the Grizz and Magic for the 8th seeds. Then jump into playoffs with the other teams already seeded.

Use the results of that tournament to decide the season record for the lottery. So if the Knicks somehow make it through the tournament to play the Magic, they fall to the 13th team's odds in the lottery.

That way the league fan still fees exposure back in to the bottom ranked teams to close the season out. It could be unfair for the current 8th seeds, but neither has a commanding grip on the positions. There aren't really any blatant tank teams in the 9-12 spots, either, except maybe the Knicks. In the West, they're all good teams just underperforming. In the East, we're presently just the best of a bad bunch.

It would give us more games and some stakes from day 1 at any rate!
