Between trolling Francis on insta and continuing to tweet about this, maybe I'm wrong and Jones would take the fight? I still think no, but I hope so.

People are calling him out on the strategy, at the very least. Chael has talked (admiringly) about JJ's social media drops for years. That he's doubling-down might suggest he's serious?
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Jones is probably asking for an insane amount of money, conor money.
He also handpicked Ngannu so he most have been studying him for awhile and feels like he can out skill him and exploit specific holes.
One thing about guys moving up, everyone is picturing the smaller version. It’ll be interesting to see what a Jones, 20 pounds heavier looks like, both physically and cardio wise

I think Ngannou is the truth and the inevitable king of the HW division. DC is the one guy who can beat him, and he won't stick around for any fight except for Stipe.

I dunno. I need to see him beat everybody one more time with his unique brand of ultra KOs.

Not sold yet. Im not sure he is any different than he was the first time around when he was knocking everyone out. I don't see any new ripples in his game so far that leads me to believe he can now stop a take down and what his cardio is like. His punches are just as wild as they were before.
I think Stipe, DC and Jon can all beat him. I recently rewatched Stipe vs Ngannou and Stipe was able to time those looping punches. Like DC said a couple days ago, everyone who fights him just moves straight back. Sooner or later Ngannou is going to clip you if you move straight back. Stipe used angles which kept him out of trouble and allowed him to counter and take him down. DC would time those wild punches pretty easily and same thing with Jon.
I still need to see Francis get tested to see how much he has grown since the Stipe fight.

Jones saying he’s walking away from mma because the Offer was way off
That’s a fight Dana should pay up for, that, Jones vs Stipe, and Khabib vs JG are the big fights right now.

Both guys tweeted and criticised what they were offered to do this fight..
How does the pay per view money work? Do certain fighters ( or all)get a percentage?

It's just whatever they can negotiate, though champs get some sort of bonus generally speaking I believe. It's not straight percentage though, the PPV has to reach certain thresholds before they'd get anything. At one point DJ had to negotiate something else because he couldn't get into bonus territory. But contracts are private in we generally don't know how it's structured for different fighters.

Wait, do they still get ppv percentages now that they moved to ESPN+? I was thinking ESPN just paid UFC a flat rate for ppvs now for some reason.

I’ve been wondering that as well.
When I first heard about the Espn deal, that was my understanding and I immediately thought of Connor since he has the most to lose.

Haven't seen this posted. heavy stuff.

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov says his father is in critical condition after being infected by Covid-19, and he has lost several relatives to the virus.
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov has played a large part in his son’s wildly successful mixed martial arts career, and encouraged his son to wrestle from when he was young. Khabib is undefeated in all 28 of his professional fights.
“There is a lot written on the internet about my father. My father, right now, is in a hospital. He is in critical condition as a result of this virus. It impacted his heart because last year he had a surgery there, and right now, they did another surgery. He is in a very difficult situation, very difficult. We are asking Allah that he returns him to us,” said Nurmagomedov during an Instagram live chat on Monday.
The Dagestan fighter went on to say that other members of his family had been affected by the virus.
“In my personal case, I’ve had more than 20 people sick from my family,” Nurmagomedov said. “More than 20 people were lying in the ICUs. And many of them are no longer among us. Many acquaintances have died, many parents of my relatives. Everybody is having a hard time dealing with it.”

I think it's cool that the NSAC has their own COVID criteria for the fights to happen. As opposed to just trusting the UFC to take care of it.

Also, I'm kind of surprised at how skimpy some of these cards are. After a few months off I kind of thought they would be putting on stacked cards due to fighters just wanting to fight. That said, maybe they are trying to keep costs low with the low gates? I know they are contractually obligated to put on so many fights for espn, probably regardless of the competitors involved. That said, I think they are also contractually obligated to offer fighters on the roster a certain number of fights per year.

There might be 2-3 fights that have been announced in the next couple of months that Im interested to see, fights not cards.
Woodley vs Burns should be good. Burns I have as the next champ at 170
Josh Emmett vs Burgos. Im not excited for this fight and most likely will take me a day or 2 after this fight happened to realize it happened and go back to watch it. But should be a pretty entertaining fight
That is about it till mid July as of right now. Most cards between now and then aren't booked yet, so hopefully a good flow of good fights come in. But as of right now, just nothing to get excited about at all. UFC 250 is taking place in a week and a half and that might be the worst PPV card of all time as of right now. Ya it doesnt look complete yet (I dont think) but no way you get any good names to fight on that short of notice.
My guess is the UFC went all out for that first show and now dont want to waste any good cards or matchups until they get fans back and get their gate income back.
