I would like to see the players have ample time to get their bodies (and mind) back in the game before going straight to playoff intensity basketball. Seems reckless, otherwise.

I would like to see 10-13 games before the playoffs start... give the guys time to get back into game shape and give the 9th and 10th seeds an opportunity to potentially grab a playoff spot

Other than the Pelicans, every non-playoff seeded team when COVID hit had less than 8% chance to make post season.

so lets just eliminate them and the pelicans because its a small chance... something tells me if your team had a 8% chance of making it you wouldnt be for it lol

The 9th and 10th seeds had 60+ games to grab a playoff spot

It would be a shame if Giannis got injured in a "play in" game against the Magic. Bucks lose title chances because the NBA wanted to give the 7,8,9,10 spot teams a chance to host two home playoff games. There could be a serious injury during that time. There is huge risk either way.
Yes, there is nothing like live action to get players into shape. Yes, there will be injuries, either way- in practice, in reg season, in playoffs.
START THE PLAYOFFS, as is. give teams an extra day in between games to rest.

Before this all went down there was talk of a mid-season tournament.
Why not put all 30 teams into a single elimination tournament? Maybe make the first two rounds best of three series, the next a best of five and the last two a best of seven?

Need 10 games to get legs and rhythm back. Going right into the playoffs would compromise the series after such a long layoff.

You could literally say this about the remainder of the season or rest of his career.

get everyone to 70 games and call the season, thats 5 or 6 per team. Most of us think 82 game season is too long anyway.

The injuries that would happen from guys playing 100% when they arent ready to might jeopardize the next season too much. I dont think people are taking in how hard it is for a someone over 27 to play competitive basketball after doing crossfit workouts for 3-4 months due to isolation/ or grieving like many of us are for lost friends and family due to coronavirus.
maybe 2 weeks of games need to happen before playoffs can start at least.

How can you possibly force all players to live in quarantine away from their families for the period of the remaining games and especially how can you justify all the corona tests that need to be done in order to make sure, that nobody is ill when there are not enough tests for all the medical staff out there?
Sorry, but this has nothing to do with how good "my team" is. And the Pacers are far from terrible...

Don't fool yourself. It's easy to sit on a moral high horse when your team has zero chance of advancing more than a round or two into the playoffs. There is plenty of testing, and workers everywhere are sacrificing nowadays to get us through, collectively. If hundreds of navy officers can live on a sub for 6+ months, NBA players can live in a bubble for 2-3. Most teams will be back home in less than 2 months.

What the **** man. My opinion about that is that it is not reasonable to continue the season and that has nothing to do with which team I personally prefer.
"There is plenty of testing". Yep thats right. Plenty of testing for **** basketball players that are not important for society. Rather use this testing for people who really MUST work.
