Do you think Obi being 22 yrs old already is a concern? Any star you see with that kind of age when drafted?

Jimmy Butler first that comes to mind. Also, players back in the days were drafted close to that age.

John Collins is a pretty good today comp...I do think John Collins moves better around the court than Obi though. But overall offensive they do some simlar things if what he did in college translates to the NBA.

Haha dude, I was asked if I knew of any star drafted at that age and referred to Butler being an older player like Toppin is and blossoming into a star.

Yes, we need to look at the little things that each potential draftee brings to the table. Details, details!

When I grew up, my favorite Euro player was Kresimir Cosic of Yugoslavia. He was the kinda like the Pistol Pete of Europe except he was a big. I don't recall if he ever played in the NBA but he is the basketball HOF. This kid reminds me a smaller version of Cosic. I actually didn't recall that Cosic was really more of a center.

he is for sure a great roller to the basket. Both in the pick and pop scenario and running to the rim. That is without question.

he is for sure a great roller to the basket. Both in the pick and pop scenario and running to the rim. That is without question.

That was actually highlighting him as a passer and how his versatility has helped make Dayton the best and most potent NCAA team ever in the history of the game. Yes, they were the best and most efficient team ever and Obi's versatility was the biggest key. They also had a bunch of lethal shooters which also helped.

flip to 1:55 nearly every scouting report has him as top heavy with with stiff hips and poor lateral movemnt. You are acting like I am just pulling this out of nowhere.

Tim Hardaway is also a great straight line athlete with very good leaping ability. He also can't move laterally either. They are seperate movements and muscles.

he is very skilled, you can easily question his competition and that is 100% accurate. But if you are a believer that skill is skill. Then he has a lot of potential.

Kinda hard to say since he's already proven he can play in the NBA, which obviously Toppin hasn't done yet, and he's not only proven he can play but proven he can play very well in the NBA.

Did you even watch the video? Paid attention to it? It took me 10 seconds to realize this was nonsense. Him faking a handoff and going into a drive has nothing to do with poor lateral movement. In fact he's had success doing that play countless times, there's plenty evidence of it. The few times the defender didn't bite isn't an example of poor lateral movement. This is terrible assessment whoever created that video. If you go to Obi's strengths you will find examples of that very same play working when the defender bites on the fake.

Well if Jordan Sperber believes in him then.............well i don't know who Jordan Sperber is so i guess i still don't know.

Obviously you guys can go back and forth with people who believe in him and people who don't but none of those people or any of us will ever know if he can or can't translate his game to play well in the NBA until we see it.

I agree and nobody ever has to convince me on any of the euro kids that have skills cause i'm a fan of the euro kids, or at least most of them and i like this kids skills for sure. I'm all about using the Clippers and Charlotte pick to get into the mid 1st round and taking a shot with this kid for sure.
