OT: Bucks Board Quarantine Snack Bracket Discussion

Post#1 » by ReasonablySober » Wed May 27, 2020 6:38 pm

Let's do this.

Talk rules and nominations here.

My first rule for discussion: no dips. If your snack is great AND requires a dip, only the snack is represented.

I'm nominating the obvious: Dots Homestyle Pretzels.

Hard to separate snacks and dips
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

And this is why discussion is needed in this important matter. This bracket is FLEXIBLE. I'm not saying celery is a top snack. But you add some peanut butter and raisins? Got yourself a nice little snack.

Okay. Who else is in favor of dips and/or condiments in their snack nomination?

Cool Ranch Doritos. I know it's a boring pick but it's just a damn good chip.

Popcorn cooked on a stovetop with real butter.

Funyuns are underrated. Dots are great but I've just had them for the first time. I may get sick of them in the long haul. I've never got sick of Cool Ranch Doritos. Flaming hot are good but a notch below. Classic Lays with French onion dip a solid choice. A good tortilla chip with well made guac.

What are we qualifying as snacks (dip discussion aside)? Like, are we really meaning chips? Are sweets included? Because **** Oreos, man. Crown them champion now.

Dips cannot be included in this discussion, too many variables and homemade ones that can change things.

It's Funyons, Flamin' Hots, Goldfish, Cheeze-Its for me. Maybe throw in some cheese Ritz Bitz from time to time and some Spicy Nacho Doritos and I'm good and fat.

What qualifies as a snack, snack/dip debate aside? Like some people consider chicken wings a snack, others a meal. Is this brands only, like a big FritoLay vs Hostess discussion?

I would like to bring to the floor the notion of creating a “salty” and a “sweet” bracket that narrows down to one true king.

Not saying this is my pick, but if one of the Aussies doesn’t nominate Tim Tams I’ll question their national pride.

I had Ritz Crackers for the first time in forever a while ago. I had fond memories of them.

Then I ate one.

Holy crap, do they not hold up. Awful taste. Awful texture.

Give me Town House or hell even Saltines over those any day.
