This is the physically softest Woodley has ever looked, by far. Damn. His physique survived USADA, too, but here he doesn't look right.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

It looks like a live possibility, yeah ^^
Thank God that Colby vs TWood fight didn't materialize, no one needs Colby to get an easy win over a nemesis.

Looking forward to him!
Glad that they're doing interviews not in the cage anymore.

Ya that was so easy to see coming. Women's fighting is like the HW division for me. There are about 3-4 fighters that are just on a comply different level than everyone else and I love watching their fights. Everyone else it's most likely going to be an ugly fight that is hard to watch.

Re: Non-threadworthy UFC Events Thread
Two uninspiring performances in a row by Woodley. I knew he was done from the second he conceded mount with no fight in the first round. I thought he didn't look to set up his right hand at all. Almost looked like he only bothered to throw it in anger after he himself got tagged. I also thought Burns over committed to a lot of leg kicks and left himself open a lot but Woodley never tried to counter at all. Disappointing.
I like Burns and its cool to see him enter the mix. He's a little nutso nationalistic for my liking in general but I like guys who compete in both MMA and grappling and Burns still even competes in the gi a lot too which is cool.
How does Colby/Burns go? Gotta say my gut jumps to Colby having an edge without really analyzing too hard.

Re: Non-threadworthy UFC Events Thread
Burns is my pick to be the next champ. Whether he gets the shot his next fight or the fight after, I think he takes it. I think he's a horrible matchup for Colby and Kamaru. Those two aren't going to want to strike with him and I can't see anyone going with the gameplan of trying to put Burns on his back.

Re: Non-threadworthy UFC Events Thread
Honestly. I didn't see the hype for Burns. Just scratched a decision win vs Gunnar Nelson and then a 'lucky punch' vs Maia after being a top 15-20 fighter at LW.
Guess not though. Really looked great tonight, saw some similarities to the way Rory dismantled Woodley. Usman were mostly with his wrestling, Rory destroyed Woodley everywhere. Burns did the same - dominated the striking, constantly on his toes, constantly feinting and just didn't allow Woodley to get in a rythm or find the distance. When Woodley did throw Burns went for takedown and made Woodley even more hestitant. Just overall great gameplan and excellent fight from Burns. Gotta say he looks legit.
Usman
Burns
Edwards
Colby
Masvidal
Think that's a clear top-5 right now. Then you have guys like Geoff Neal and Claudio Silva on the rise. Chiesa also looks good at 170 and Wonderboy is also a hard matchup for some of these guys. And don't forget Nicolas Dalby - danish dynamite coming in strong to dominate the division...
Dalby could be a top-10 fighter though, no cap.

I didn't watch the fight but read the reviews and saw Tyron's body/body language. Something's way off. It could be anything. Injury, confidence, depression...or, I wouldn't doubt, simply, the state of the world (him being a Black man from Ferguson).
You hate to think that someone is having to do this simply for the cash, without their heart being in it at all (and while their counttry burns). The only solace is that this was not Colby. Can you imagine Colby vs Tyron on the eve of these kinds of events? Shudder.

The state of the world thing occurred to me. It's just a little weird though because while I like Tyron, he isn't the type to shy away from blaming his own performances on external factors if those factors exist and he's claiming he felt great and basically just got outfought.
He is 38 now and hasn't won a fight in almost two years and was fighting a super hungry fighter. I admit coming in I thought Tyron was going to win though so this is all hindsight for me.

Its also not an uncommon performance by him either since he got the title. He really has become a defensive counterstriker. Either than the Till fight, Wonderboy 2 was a pretty slow fight, the Maia fight was horrendous and Usman he didnt show up. So Id say 4 of his last 5 he hasn't really looked aggressive at all. Throw in the longer layoff and him getting up in age, the performance didnt surprise me too much.
I really wonder what it is, because you still see those glimpses of his crazy explosion. He just doesnt seem to resort to any kind of aggression that much anymore.

I think the aggressive Tyron we saw vs Lawler was way more of an outlier than Tyron that just sits back and waits for a bomb, and anti-wrestles.

I've been an MMA fan for a long time and have never seen anyone drop out of as many fights as Ray Borg due to various personal reasons, mysterious illnesses, or weird circumstances. It's not close to close.

I totally forgot Ray Borg got flying armbarred by DJ. He also pulled out of that fight the first time it was scheduled due to illness.
by Wiki's count, he's pulled out 8 (now 9) times for various reasons and missed weight 4 times. He's had 12 fights in the UFC

LOL originally when I made my post, the news was that he pulled out for undisclosed personal reasons. I felt a little bad later when he implied it has to do with his son or family somehow. Good luck to him, but it's truly ridiculous how much stuff happens to happen to him in the day or to leading up to fights for every single fight. I wasn't exaggerating when I said I've never seen anything like it. And yea that doesn't include all the weight misses (regardless of weight class).
