It looks like a jackass cop but...there's not enough here to tell their story or give any context as to why the cop was behaving that way. Mad dogging?

Well, if there was probable cause to believe that the young man, who is simply leaning back against the car causing no threat to the officers, had committed a crime, then they simply would've arrested him. The fact that the officer begins to eventually back off because he knew he was in the wrong. Then the kid fcked up and had to add a little extra au jus on top by calling the cop "a (Please Use More Appropriate Word)." First of all, the kid just lost all progressives who were ready to get behind him as a hero. Second, he had just won the fight. Just continue to lean back against the car, weight on one leg with your arms folded and a fcking big-ass smirk on his face. But nooooooo, he had get that extra shot in after the bell. Cost ya every time.

That was one of my ideas. Use their pensions and take them hostage in any instance of police brutality. Other option I was thinking of is requiring every police department to purchase liability insurance and especially use it to cover any settlements/judgments paid to the families of victims of police brutality.... that might be more constitutional than using pension funds to do that.... but probably equally complicated.

NYC uses CompStat to evaluate officers, but that system is heavily flawed.

Yes, I was "minimally addicted" back in the 60's. I attended the original "Woodstock" in 1969 and it was pretty hard to avoid the stuff back then. A year or so later I quit all of them, including organic mescaline, dubbed the best 8 hour stomach ache you could ever have, which had been my favorite. So since the early seventies I'm clean. Don't drink, don't smoke, exercise every day and hope to live till 111.

Having defended those lawsuits on behalf of the City of Philadelphia, I can tell you that we'd get these horrific lawsuits, settle the case, and then we'd fire the officer only to have the labor arbitrator send them back to work. Very frustrating. Which is why we need to rid ourselves of the police unions. Do you know that why union membership in unions, generally, across the country is down, police unions and their memberships are way up.
