I'd be willing to bet Trump told Esper and McCarthey to say what they said just so he could attempt to look good by nixing it. It probably didn't work, and it might actually piss off his core of moron voters.

i agree. i think most of what trump's attorneys put out there are clear ethics violations for any state bar. not to mention she's tremendously underqualified for her job. at least Cohen was just an attorney by name, and didn't do much legal work - just writing threatening letters and "fixing" things. giving practical advice on constitutional issues like speech and executive powers is another thing all together.

Lawyers willing to violate ethics are the ones who get the big bucks. As Trump has proven over and over again, you can get away with pretty much anything if you're a white male with power being defended by the Republican party. So as a lawyer for someone who is pretty much above the law, what's the risk?

I don't know... Biden is absolutely the last guy I would pick to push the progressive agenda.

It's actually really bad - the Dems might hold the house, Senate, and POTUS this November, and again (like in 2008) probably for just two years. If they get the senate, they need to govern like their hair is literally on fire because you don't know how long it's going to last. And the person we've appointed to lead us through this critically important moment in history is ... Joe Biden.

Lol, I almost feel like I have to apologize here for being a Biden guy. But I think there's a whole lot more Biden guys then you seem to think there are. One good quality he has that probably none of the progs has shown is the ability to compromise. He also understands that when he wins, he's not going to be the King. He's going to work with the leaders in his party, and he'll do it willingly.

I see or hope Biden as more teachable and leadable, certainly than Sanders. If you can make
a strong well supported argument for your policy, his mind is malleable.

See, I don't think we have time to convince him. He has to hit the ground running on the first day. After the GOP get crushed in 2020 everybody's going to pat themselves on the back and stop paying attention to politics again, while the GOP machine will still be out there leveraging hate and fear to maximize turnout. The Dems *will lose* the Senate again in 2022, I will bet you cash money on that, and everything the Dems want to do will come crashing to a halt.

breakdown of the Incumbent Senators up for election. And of course the states
they represent.

Sure, there's a slight chance they don't lose in 2022. But you have to assume you only have two years. Any time beyond that is pure bonus. You can accomplish a lot in two years - look how much damage Trump was able to do.

I think that breaking things is easier than fixing things... notwithstanding your valid point that things can get done in a two year period if you are ready to go.
