We are fully prepared to exercise their bird rights to the fullest, ensuring they will be brought back (in maximum years and extended beyond the cap, if needed). LeBron will be kept happy as he finishes his career in Toronto with his preferred teammates.

The aforementioned players are worth more to our organization than they are to yours. We will prove that out, as free agency plays out.

If you extend them an offer, it better be your very best starting with at least 4 years. Or we will make sure we keep the bidding process long, drawn out, and incrementally small, tying up your failed pursuit as you lose other bids in the process.

Spoiler:
Or maybe we won’t, and in the end you’ll be stuck with the inflated bill

I plan to bid on all 3 and not give my very best just 1 year deals starting in the $150+ range, if i get stuck with them I think I will have one of the best rosters in the league

Hoffa keeps forgetting he will have to overpay in any free agency pursuit due to his horrible free agent ranking as punishment for tanking annually.

He also forgets a multi-year offer from a team holding bird rights with a good to great free agency ranking trumps an inflated 1 year offer from a terribly ranked Hornets.

What you’re not getting is the SIM’s player will undoubtedly value multi year security over an inflated 1-year deal. Especially for an older player like Redick, or an injury history player like Rose. They will take a good 4 or 5 year deal over a big 1 year offer. It’s simple math.

yeah this will be the first year bird rights come into play. I assume that will play a major role. Anyone giving that 5th year should be at an advantage.

Nah wasn't a problem last off season doubt you will give any of those players 5 years so having bird rights is useless

Only see 2 players getting extended that 5th year in this years free agency class who would getting more then $100 annually, dont see teams pulling themselves out of the year 5 free agency class.

The following list of players are all due to have their third/fourth year options picked up/declined this offseason. The deadline for this is July 5th. Any team that does not respond will automatically decline the option year on these players.

The 1/2 next to the team name shows what round of the draft each player was originally selected in. If the player is a round 2 player, the team will need to exercise the third year option in order to hold that players Bird rights going into free agency. Also, the option will need to be picked up in order to give an extension if a team wanted to go in that route somewhere down the line.

Any player with an EL next to his name is also on the EL. Teams will need to submit their EL yes/no before they can accept/decline the option year.

PM me if you choose to pickup the third/fourth year options on these players. Deadline is Sunday, July 5th at midnight.
