Actually, Tuesday's rally in Phoenix should be worse.

OMG.
This is utterly terrible. It's gonna spread like wildfire.

I just can't get interested in this season at all. I don't care if they play or not, so don't play and stay safe.

Congrats, Froob!

If you can avoid it, don't get married in Sweden. (Not that US is doing any better.)

My lady and I argued about this months ago, with her siding with Sweden's approach. I wish I had placed a wager on it (e.g. BJs everyday for a month)

Well, it was a nice run. 4 months and the facility my wife is a nurse at was Covid-19 free. That was until yesterday, where an employee tested positive. Pretty sure it wasn't her shift (1st) but it was her wing. Now she has to dress like a NASA scientist for 8 hours. Thankfully, she starts a 2 week vacation next Monday and has Wed/Thursday off this week as well.

Stay safe, especially those who reside in the South or West! And wear a damn mask in public, especially when you're indoors. This **** is far from over. Hopefully, Fauci speaks the vaccine into existence by end of the year or early 2021.

Death rate has continued to drop across the country. Even in the states where cases have risen rapidly (California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, and South Carolina) deaths have remained low. Cases have been rising long enough enough that we should have seen an uptick in deaths by now. The best explanation I've seen is that the age of the infected people has dropped pretty dramatically.

I'm hopeful that means that these states are doing a good job isolating the vulnerable.

Can I be the ahole who asks for the tl;dr? Was aware of the Tulsa stuff.. but had wavered a little out of the loop in the week or two before 6/11/20, when I was hospitalized for a dozen days for a fireworks of physical and mental health stuff that would make Dr. Rob Smith blush ... South Korea's having a second wave? What's going on? (When are we drafting, when's the lotto?)

It’s really too early to conclude that. The dramatic rise has all been in June. I tend to agree that the identified cases are probably skewing younger (maybe not necessarily infections) which will mean death per cases will be lower. A lot of that is likely due to increased testing. Tons of infected people were just never identified early on. So it’s not really an apples to apples comparison when you look at identified cases now and back in early April.

But the more people infected the harder it’s going to be to keep those vulnerable protected. And even in less vulnerable age groups, huge infection rates will add up to a lot of death. So deaths may not rise as rapidly as before but we may wind up in the same place ... or worse.
