he's arguably the best shooter in the draft and a great movement shooter.

Maybe I'm missing something but isn't the NBA about the 3 point shot now? Wouldn't it be nice to have a guy that is a major threat from that distance?

He also has a lightning quick release

He's older and has doesn't have great length but holds his own on the defensive end.

He can be a potential kyle korver type movement shooter. He was also a 22 year old senior that got passed on and carved out a nice NBA career.

He's not the best shooter in the draft

You want a Kyle Korver type?

dotson didn't have his college consistency from deep

dotson only shot of 40% from 3 1 out of his 4 years (38% total). Bane shot over 40% 3 out of his 4 years with his only year under being his freshman year where he shot 38%. Over 4 years shot 43.3% from deep.

He also shot 17/45 from NBA distance 3's (38%) which is a great indication the shot will tranlate to the NBA level.

I find they are very similar, stats seem to support it, I don’t average all 4 years, players improve

thats pretty risky to throw out 3 years of data...for a comparison. You basically creatig a small sample size. Players do improve but players can also have good/bad year and you have more years to evaluate consitency and development.

I disagree...I think Bane and Nesmith are both better shooters.

Even if you negate the shooting percentages, which dotson was better as a senior across the board including ft% and overall fg%, attempted a higher volume of 3s, there are a lot of other similarities, same age, same size, same low ft attempt rate showing they mostly shoot rarely driving to the rim, similar advanced stats.

I’m not saying he will be dotson, but I think he’s a similar caliber of player and I would draft him in a similar spot. Dotson went 44, espn has Bane at 44 on their best available list.

I didn’t mean to try to take a dump on him with that comparison, shooting is always valuable, just that I genuinely think there will be a higher caliber player that will end up falling to 27 and I’m looking for value at 27 instead of reaching for someone I think could still be there at 38

Maybe we need to apply that to Nesmith. 33% From 3 in his first season and played in only 14 games this year. Maybe he just had an insanely lucky 14 game hot streak. Not enough sample size consistency to justify moving him from 2nd round to lottery

Wouldnt mind even taking a shot at Cassius Stanley at 27 rather than taking Bane. Stanley might never become more than Gerald Green but I'd still rather see them take the shot on him. Bane is nothing special and we can definitely find a type like him with the 2nd round pick or maybe even undrafted free agent signing.

You can absolutely do that for sure. If you would like to.

I wouldn't but you can if you want.

I would take Stanley over Bane as well because I like his potential more, but like Bane I also think he will more than likely be there at 38 and someone better falls to us at 27

See I think a player like Stanley comes and goes in the NBA all the time. If we are trying to win a dunk contest during all-star weekend sure.

If we are trying to help our team start to win games....I'm taking Bane.

Not sure, it's hard to predict how the lower portion of the 1st round will go. I don't think I can really say confidently who will or won't be there at 38 for sure.

What’s the chance we could get someone like Tyrell Terry a 3pt marksman at PG with the Clippers pick?

Took a pretty good dive into Tyrell Terry today and I think I like him as PG #2 right now. Need to dive into Nico Mannion, Hayes, Haliburton, and Kira more. I’m doing Kira Lewis tomorrow but I was really impressed with Terry. I watched one game and he didn’t do anything too special when I watched live but he’s a really really intriguing guy. Could be a lotto pick IMO

Only thing really holding Tyrell back is his size, but the boy can really shoot.

Admittedly, I have not watch a lot of film on Bane but from what I did see he looked slow-footed on defense.

Same. Plays with so much confidence.
