Because this would not help the American economy

Why would these countries risk their publics health so NBA can play some games?

That's the thing. Nobody is being forced. No one has to go to Orlando if they want to sit out for the protests. The ones who don't want to play can't turn it around and force everyone else to sit. That's the irony of the situation here
They are docking pay for anyone who doesn’t play. So yeah, they are forcing black people to risk their Health and do it in Florida where it is a **** show.

Well someone earlier pointed out utah still has the facilities from the winter games a few years back which would have given then more room, more courts, and certainly better weather while in a state doing better with corona. Sure, I doubt nba players are jumping for joy over utah, but it's a start. I'm not sure where else as frankly I don't know anything at all about disney world. And why do they need hotels large enough for 30k people? Seems excessive.
Seems like the obvious choice would be somewhere in Canada.
I almost couldn't tell if this was a joke. Where in Canada specifically?

Prince Edward Island. No cases since April 28th. 10,000 tests total, 27 total cases since the start. Couldn't be an easier choice. U of PEI courts. EST time zone. The island is a bubble. Stage everyone in NB then bring them all over. They can eat Lobster every day.
How's that?
Maybe the NHL will get wise.
And all of that, for an NBA attempting to finish its season at Disney in Orlando, is problematic, experts say.
“Extremely concerning,” says Zachary Binney, an epidemiologist at Emory University.
“Absolutely,” says Bill Schaffner, an infectious disease specialist at Vanderbilt University.
“Of course, they should be concerned about case numbers around where they’re trying to build their bubble,” says Jared Baeten, an epidemiology professor at the University of Washington.
“Yes,” says Kathleen Bachynski, a public health professor at Muhlenberg College. “And that’s because a true bubble is just really, really hard to create.”

I’ve never been to PEI, but no offense, I doubt they have the facilities necessary to accommodate something of this caliber?

Btw, despite the numbers going up, our healthcare system has not been overwhelmed, which is literally the only reason these numbers matter at all. Additionally, judging the success or failure of a state in dealing with the virus based on cumulative numbers, where .004 of the state’s population has tested positive, with a .03 death rate of those .004, is the epitome of taking data and having it say whatever you want it to say.

Yes, most cases on the East coast came from New York. However, New York was more or less blindsided by this as the 1st area impacted. Florida’s horrible governor (and many other conservative governors) watched what happened in New York and are repeating those same mistakes despite clear consequences.
Hospitalizations and Deaths always lag behind spikes in cases. We can hope and pray that Florida will be miraculously spared from this trend we’ve seen around the world but unfortunately miracles are inherently unlikely.
Personally if I played or coached for any team other than the top 4 in each conference And I was financially stable, I would stay home instead of exposing myself and my family to the professional negligence of Florida’s leadership.

But what basis do you have to support the idea that “Florida’s horrible governor” and “many other conservative governors” are horrible when the WORST states for this are NY, NJ, Illinois, California, and Massachusetts—ALL Democrat “blue” states. Those guys just got “blindsided” but Florida and “other conservative” states are the bad guys? Please. Please. So tired of the partisan BS.

The only fault with the NBA is not having a plan B. Now they have to hope that the bubble can contain what's happening outside, where Florida just reported 5508 cases today with a 15.91% positivity rate and 36k tests done.

It’s not partisan BS.
Like I said, they were blindsided because their outbreaks were well underway in March before there was adequate testing or a clear understanding of the virus, particularly in NYC, Boston and Jersey. These outbreaks largely stemmed from the international airports in those cities and an inability to test and trace cases.
The conservative states watched what happened in New York, saw the consequences and willingly made the same mistakes because of pressure from the trump administration. New York, Boston and NJ are now very much under control because they learned from their own mistakes.
