Heavyweights shouldn’t be fighting 5 rounds in the first place.

Title fights shouldn’t be 5 rounds for anyone imo.
They CAN be, but I think that should be a negotiated term that the champion could could use for either more money, or to their benefit

I enjoyed it. Blaydes looked really good IMO, Miller is the craftiest **** dude, Burgos/Emmet was an insane war and Reddzone disapointed me forever with his pick. Even enjoyed the Tecia Torres fight.

Shane Burgos' skill is being 185 pound 145er? He hit some jabs but your jab's not working if it's constantly being countered big.

Damn, and I haven’t seen him back since, hope he doesn’t feel too bad . It really was a tough loss, but looks like several people were on that hype train.

Of course the dude I'm touting as "tough as nails!!!!111" quits on the stool LOL. Maybe I extrapolated too much from his grappling/wrestling style to his toughness when getting pummeled. Still, tall task to fight a guy with 3-4 times as many fights as you on five days notice (not sure why some were saying it was more notice than that). I actually didn't even see the fight, so can't comment on any specifics.

Unfortunately for him, may not get another chance after hearing Dana's comments afterwards. Also may not see any other guys quit in the middle of a fight, no matter how beat up, for fear of disappointing the true tough guy of the promotion...Dana.

Sorry I lost you money brosef.

I just caught the second round. His striking looked terrible. But that might have been exhaustion. He was just slapping a counter left like a toddler. Eesh.

don’t apologize for anything, it’s all good my man. I actually had a great night gambling, last minute Tecia bet came through clutch too. Poirer next week... went big on that.

Dana didn’t have his opinion straight, one second it felt like he was questioning the kid, then the next he’s adamant about him making the right choice.

Kid had a sweet imanari roll to start the second. He showed flashes but ended up gassing hard. Hope they give him another chance.

... I once thought Brandon Thatch was the next big thing until Bendo derailed that train completely, lol

^^ Ahh that's good to hear about Dana. I didn't hear the presser, just heard the comments where he said Blaydes was gassed too but chose to fight instead of whatever.

Dana was still an ass but then he pulled it back a little, it was weird. I don;t know what Dana wants though, does he want someone to pull a Dada 5000 on him?

How about Dana’s “this is not a career, but an opportunity”. Blaydes sets a record with takedowns, Volkov was just looking for the ref to stand them up. It’s the wrong guy to harp on.

I know I joked about ReddZone's boy but the UFC is reckless as hell wiith how they're scheduling these fights on such short notice.

That dude was not ready for 15 minutes and took the fight because it's the UFC and it's a great opportunity for him even if he wasn't ready.

I don't know how Poirier has ever won a fight. I think he gets tooled.

LOL come on man, he actually has a good resume and only fights the best guys. Are you still mad at him because he didn't correct an interviewer who called him champ instead of interim champ that time?

Max Holloway (x2)
Eddie Alvarez
Justin Gaethje
Anthony Pettis
Jim Miller

Ya he quietly has one of the better resumes at 155. I wont lie though, Im also one of those that always picks him to lose going into every fight. Pretty much every fight I think, I just don't see how he wins, then the dude just toughs a win out against a damn good opponent.

Fair. But that wasn't my point.

I understand that he's won fights and think he's a good fighter. He kicked Alvarez and Gaethje's asses, in fact. I just don't know HOW. It's sort of a compliment (I also don't understand how Nate Diaz has ever won a fight but I understand that he has delivered some horrendous beatdowns). If you watch Eddie move, his skills are exceptionally well-honed and he's super gifted. And JG has the best punching in the sport, bar none. Poirer beat them handily. I just don't know how.

(Those last two guys are .500 journeyman, LBH).

Also, dude went on shows with the interim belt, called himself the champ, and didn't correct naive interviewers that he only had the interim (e.g. Teddy Atlas).

What did JG do with the interim belt, anyone remember? He chucked it aside immediately. Cos, obviously, it doesn't mean ****. And JG had beaten an actual LW deserving of the opportunity, even.

Why does Luis Pena get such easy fights? Is the UFC pushing him? Maybe the fight tomorrow is just a function of available opponents, IDK, seems a pretty lame opponent for your, like, 7th/8th UFC fight.
