Rudy Gobert Says Taste Has Returned, But 'Smell Is Still Not 100%'

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Jun 28, 2020 7:16 pm

Rudy Gobert said that he is still feeling the side effects from COVID-19.

“The taste has returned, but the smell is still not 100%. I can smell the smells, but not from afar. I spoke to specialists, who told me that it could take up to a year," said Gobert in an interview with L'Equipe.

Gobert's positive test on March 11th shut down the NBA season.

Gobert added that he still feels "weird things," though he doesn't necessarily know if they are attributable to the virus.

"I still feel weird things, but I have never been so long in my life without playing a basketball game! I don’t know if that’s the backlash of the virus. ... Today, I wouldn’t say I’m feeling more tired than before. But I had experiences, a month and a half ago, that scared me. I felt like ants in my toes and wondered what it could be. There were quite a few little things like that."

Covid-toes, Rudy. They are real.

Yikes, that feeling in his toes is likely damaged endothelium (aka inner lining of the blood vessels), which is correlated with the virus.

This is just a little reminder how scary this virus is.

And yet, people think that these players are immune to adverse effects from this virus.

All it will take is one player catching this and taking a bad turn medically for this to blow up in Adam Silvers face. One.

He could very well legitly be feeling ill effects of COVID.

On the other hand, this guy was probably shell-shocked from getting the virus after being so careless and cavalier about getting it. So wouldn't put it past him if he's being a bit paranoid about every little thing he's feeling. At the very least, he's probably more alert about everything. At the end of the day, not the best source for reliable info out there.
