Before Embiid's last pre-draft injury most of the board was on the train. After he hurt his back? there was a split between Parker/Wiggins and a smaller group remaining in the Embiid camp.

I remember me and PP were on him for an age. I think I quit when he screwed his foot (or was that first?)

Embiid and Giannis??? Man...

Oh yeah, stress fracture in the back first up and then the foot fracture that made him look like he was going to last as long as Oden.

On this day 15 years ago the Bucks drafted Andrew Bogut.

Many on the board saw how special he was in summer league. The flashes were there.

Plus was giannis actually a top 15 pick in terms of draft gurus did most fans think this pick was a reach

I remember being pretty cool with the pick, but man, I really wanted Dennis Schroder or Sergei Karesev.

Thanks for the 100 plus pages on this guy on draft night majority so far page 3 likes the pick
I loved the pick. I started a Giannis highlight thread in 2014, and never looked back. Truly unaware of how great he would be, I knew he would be special.

I was also grateful that we got Jabarl the following year... So there is that. I was at the SL game when the two played against Utah. Gobert and Rodney Hood squashed them in a sleepover. I think the light turned on when Kidd greenlighted PG Giannis. Man we had some ******* lineups back then.

Good times, definitely a journey with some fantastic avatars I claim as psuedo friends.

I remember liking the pick mainly because I didn't care much for anyone else projected to go around there, so it made sense to swing for the fences. I really didn't know much about him, but people here were enthusiastic about him, so that made me optimistic.

I was not a Parker fan - saw him as a version of Big Dog Robinson who didn't play to win.

No harm done, we got Marvin in the end.

Right before we drafted Giannis I tweeted “Whatever happens I hope my Bucks get freaky at #15.” Elite hopefulness is recognized and often rewarded by the Gods.

Legit the most excited I've been to get an almost done vet on the team. A playable big who can move his feet on D next to Giannis is my ongoing dream. If we had Marvin last season we could have put Giannis on Kawhi without Siakim blowing by whichever ivory plodder we tried. Also the Giannis at C lineup should be the scariest thing in the world but we always suck hard at PF without him there in that lineup.

NBA superstar vs Euroleague superstar. Same/same.

You'd think so given he's going at aout 900TS% in Europe.

Not drafting midget Shane Larkin was only thing I cared about that year, I was also way too high on Shabazz Muhammed.

I was fresh out of college and as the night approached, thought "**** it, take the Greek kid, we have nothing to lose." Never thought he would turn out to be a top-100 player of all time (and probably even higher when all is said and done).

I'm sure it's been mentioned but is there more doubt about Giannis signing the supermax this year with the cap likely taking a hit next year?
