I feel like you just want a point guard. As we learned with Mudiay twice (2015 draft and then when we traded for him) just looking at players that "fit" can be dangerous.

Spoiler:
My actual pick at picks 6-X would be Obi if he's on the board. Love Yek but not for us.

no. i just want anyone who's not a big. unless you draft a big who is gonna really dominate, it's pretty much a waste of a pick. bigs don't have great value anymore. plus our best young player is a center. 2 centers ? what is this 1994 ? should i go buy a tommy hillfiger rugby while i'm here ? this is madness.

what if that big has value around the league where we are drafting 7 and we can trade down to 10 or 11 and still get a guard plus get a future asset?

i don't think this draft is good enough to get an asset for going down a few spots unless it's for a top 2 pick. would you give up something to go from 8 to 5 let's say ? i wouldn't.

The Harrells and Holmes of the world have value and they can ride pine.

Like I said, I'd prefer Obi to either of these guys for the Knicks because he can stretch the floor a bit as a 4 while also providing a good post, cutting, and faceup game. Complete scorer for a 4. Plus, the Knicks would have two GOAT candidates for FG%.

if killian hayes or lamelo were still on the board sure.

I might give up a dallas protected pick to make sure I get a good PG...and not just a PG.

Vs a point that doesn't pass and a big that doesn't do anything elite. Also, he's a modern 4, not a true big.

This is Ja Morant all over again. Guy from a smaller school just smokes everyone and people don't want to believe it. You pair him with a C and point that can cover and hope he can be taught a role on defense.

They sleeping on Obi. Randle is good but Obi fits better next to Mitch and RJ. Obi was just dominant this season and even played well against the top college teams in the nation.

It can be Okongwu that’s fine, but there is just no way in this world the Knicks will consider him in the top 10 when we have a better young talent at the position already.

Yes if you are going to take a big then you take Obi because he's actually skilled. You don't settle for Onyeka. Obi has All Star potential, Onyeka is a role player at best and doesn't even fit the roster.

I think they only played against 1 top 25 team though and were 79th in strength of schedule...They played Kansas close but lost in OT.

True, and I loved Ja all year. Think there are some big differences though. Obi is 22 already, where as Ja and Onyeka are/were 19. They had completely different games too. Ja's game combined with athletiscm looked like it would fit in great into the NBA and translate right over. I just don't see that with Obi....and just the way he got abused on defense even against weak teams is pretty concerning to me.

Onyeka, just looks like he has a lot more room to get better. Moves better on the perimeter. Can be a plus on both ends...his jumper may even come around as it doesnt look that bad and he was able to hit free throws.
