Nuggets Close Practice Facility Due To Two Positive COVID-19 Tests

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jun 30, 2020 4:45 pm

The Denver Nuggets closed their practice facility last Saturday after a round of positive COVID-19 tests.

Nikola Jokic tested positive in Serbia, but the Nuggets also had two members of their planned 35-person Orlando traveling party test positive.

The Nuggets will reopen their facility based on the results of ongoing testing.

Michael Malone tested positive for COVID-19 during the NBA's shutdown.

The NBA reboot is already a train wreck. The virus is spreading wildly in the US. The top virus expert for the US government reported today that the daily number of new cases w/in the US will soon reach 100,000. We're currently at 40,000/day. Convergence upon 100,000/day should occur days before the start of the NBA reboot. It's the perfect storm for failure. It's like watching an accident in slow motion. The reboot is an accident already in motion. Though the driver could apply the breaks and avoid a collision, he's instead punching the accelerator. To quote John Belushi in Animal House -- "Ramming speeeeeeed!!!!!"

Today the ACB -- Spanish pro league -- crowned their champion. They beautifully demonstrated how a reboot should be done. First a country needs to have defeated the virus, which requires the mandate of mask wearing across the country. Second you need to have a national daily rate of new infections below 100. Third you need to have healthy players who put their families before their ambitions. Fourth you need to have a basketball league that places the health of its players before its political agenda. Congrats to the ACB for completing their season in fine fashion.

When the NBA reboot crashes, someone please call an ambulance and direct them to Thunderdome. Tell them to send everything they've got.
