Apparently he was getting tested today but yeah you’re right.

Hasn’t there been a couple of fighters lately taking fights on short notice ? Did they quarantine for two weeks ?

Apparently Usman didn’t catch the flight over so I guess they are just gonna scrap the main event and the rest of the cars will stay the same?

Edit - I guess him not flying over means not much. They’re still trying to book this fight

You could potentially contaminate the entire facility.

Apparently they are in talks with Masvidal now. Seems like a bad idea at this point to me.

Kinda sounds like it’s gonna get done. UFC doesn’t really care about corona virus.

I'm here for this drama!

Masvidal/Usman is going to be a fun lead up and an interesting fight. Way more interesting than Burns, felt Burns was too small for Marty.

Don't know about that.

Burns seemed way bigger than Woodley - and his submission and wrestling game are superior to Masvidal's. Vs Burns, Usman would have to fear both the standup game and the ground game. Vs Masvidal, i see Masvidals only chance being by KO.

I think Usman beats Jorge. Burns beats Usman, Jorge beats Burns.

For all the crap Dana and the UFC get (totally warranted), they pulled this one out. It went from a stacked card that MMA fans want to see, but no big commercial name. To losing its main event, to now having just as stacked of a card, plus commercial name appeal. Cant wait for this card.

Thumbs up to the UFC for making this happen as a late replacement. I think Masvidal knows his leverage isn't as big as he thinks. Not taking the fight in the first place made many turn on him - and he hasn't proven to be a draw yet. This is his chance to 'pay back' and prove he is worth the money he wants.

You hope that Jorge doesn't have to do anything insane to make weight. He was once a 155er, how much heavier than 170 could be be considering that he has been half-training (at least) for this?

Gotta imagine that Usman will fight risk averse until he can tire out Jorge. Is Jorge gonna gamble and look for the KO early? That owuld be exciting.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Jorge probably knows he has to do this in the first 7 minutes or he’s probably going to grinded out and gassed.

I Almost expect him to charge in like he’s going to Askren him, and just start throwing swarming bombs.

It’s either going to be a furious pace or a snails pace and he tries to protect against the takedown and play the long game

Masvidal said he was 192lb on the 4th.

Masvidal has the cliche "puncher's chance" of winning this, but that's not super compelling to me. What's more compelling to me is whether Masvidal can damage or slow Usman down with his body kicks, which are some of the best in the UFC. It's like Gaethje fighting Khabib. We know Gaethje has a puncher's chance but the fascinating part will be if he can use his calf kicks to impair Khabib's movement.

Gilbert Burns vs Kamaru Usman
Petr Yan vs Jose Aldo
Max Holloway vs Alexander Volkanowski

And then there’s Jessica Andrade vs Namajunas and VanZant vs Ribas.

Personally, I’m disappointed that we’re not getting Masvidal vs Usman. That’s the one I was definitely looking forward to.

And the disappointment has been lifted! Super excited that Masvidal is stepping in for Burns. I wish he had more of a training camp to prepare, but nonetheless, this is the matchup I've been waiting to see all year.

Would you mind updating thread title to help with my OCD? :)
