1 assist off, and he went 10-28 to get 25 points. He literally went 2-9 with RJ matched up on him. Those two shots made were also contested fade away long 2s. **** if RJ got 28 shots a game, would we as fans be just as much on his nut sack.

Look past a box score (Btw the box score shows that the kid shot terribly and turned the ball over 6 times (1 steal by RJ and a bad pass while RJ was guarding him)).

Also before you tell me to use the eye test with LaMelo:

RJH put the clamps on him

I'm 90% sure that's the footage of his Trip Dub too.

box score says 10 assists and idc about any Bootum video's it's easy to find 2 minutes of bad plays from any player.

He's a casual fans dream. Once you go in depth on him you see things for what it is. I usually don't label guys as empty stats and stat padders but this kid fits the description of that so well it's hard not to. He's the main reason I want us to stay away from a top 3 pick because we will feel pressured into taking him but we really need to stay far far away.

WHERE THOUGH?!?!?!

You right. I only should watch Highlight videos to do research on prospects.

It also really easy to avoid looking at actual facts (like you know how 9 =/= 10), or anything that doesn't fall in line with your opinion. Also if you cut up ALL of LaMelo's film, the you could make a feature film trilogy with how much it is.

Seriously.

Says 10 assists here on the official NBL website here: https://nbl.com.au/player/3716/1279436/lamelo-ball
and on realgm here: https://basketball.realgm.com/player/LaMelo-Ball/GameLogs/103892

So I guess your research on prospects isn't as thorough as you thought. Also STFU and GTFO ballboy

I concede that you get stats from places that aren't BB Reference (it's sad you use such lesser stat pools).

Is a box score really the only thing you can analyze, Mr. Analyst? Like they just hand those titles out to anyone?

For real now. Unless you got something more than "hE sCoReD tRiP dUb", then stop quoting. Literally this man can only dribble and pass at/above an NBA level.

Stop lying to yourself. LaMelo will be below average at best in the NBA.

Is this a "Eat Crow" collage? I will gladly eat it if LaMelo shoots over 40% and has less than 3 turnovers/Game in his first season. Let's be real. Otherwise. He can't live up to this player the media and this entire website (not pointing at you specifically; I can't remember if you're a LaMelo stan or not.) has made him out to be. People are hyping him up to be some can't miss prospect. He just ain't it. I would have a easier time believing that Wiseman is Hakeem with a 3Pointer than LaMelo will be this elite lead guard people think he will be.

Wait.... Should I have compared Wiseman to Hakeem.....

Won't that make Melo appear?

fair enough, I think he will do that btw. his ast/to ratio was good in the nbl even with high usage

also the 3 to/game is pretty arbitrary, if you look at players who averaged over 3 it's mostly the best players in the nba so in a vacuum that really doesn't mean anything

1 Trae Young Atlanta Hawks PG 4.82
2 James Harden Houston Rockets SG 4.48
3 Russell Westbrook Houston Rockets PG 4.45
4 Luka Doncic Dallas Mavericks SF 4.20
5 LeBron James Los Angeles Lakers SF 3.98
6 Devin Booker Phoenix Suns SG 3.94
7 Giannis Antetokounmpo SF 3.67
8 Andre Drummond Cleveland Cavaliers C 3.56
9 Ben Simmons Philadelphia 76ers SG 3.56
10 Zach LaVine Chicago Bulls PG 3.43
11 Bradley Beal Washington Wizards SG 3.40
12 Ja Morant Memphis Grizzlies PG 3.24
13 Nikola Jokic Denver Nuggets C 3.11
14 Brandon Ingram SF 3.11
15 Lonzo Ball New Orleans Pelicans PG 3.07
16 Julius Randle New York Knicks PF 3.02
