I spoke to another GM who is in the same boat as you last night and what I said to him, I'll say now to you and the rest of the board. It is very concerning to me what is happening with BK. He has always been one of our most active GM's who posts almost daily in the discussion thread. For him to just disappear after checking in at the end of the season and then setting up his entire offseason plan doesn't sit well with me. And then to seemingly find him online (thanks to KofC), and for him to then turn away from a few other GMs reaching out also is curious and concerning.
However, I know that Brazil is really going through an incredibly hard time with the virus. Just because he seemingly is physically ok doesn't mean he hasn't suffered a loss in another way. Of course, he may just have decided one day to give up RealGM and BaF alltogether for other reasons but it just doesn't feel like something he would do with no explanation. I've had many private conversations with him, like many other GMs on here, and he didn't seem like a guy ready to drop this with no notice. So, like I said to the other GM last night, considering how active he has always been and what is happening in the world right now, I am willing to give him some time to come back. Hopefully whatever he is going through will pass and this can be something for him to look forward to once it does pass.
Of course eventually he will need to be replaced if we get to the point later in the offseason where the draft and free agency are nearing and if that happens there will be a whole other issue to deal with. But for now, I'm willing to give BK more than the three weeks he's been AWOL. If we get into August and we still hear nothing from him then we will revisit, but for another week or two, I am ok with just letting the Miami franchise stand and hope that BK comes back ok (whether he wants to continue in the game or not).
And as mph said, as concerning as the situation is outside of BaF for BK, there are at least 4-5 other franchises and GMs who I rarely to never hear from, either through activity or through the discussion thread. It would be nice to have 30 GMs as active as the majority who post routinely in the thread but obviously that can't be the case. But we will definitely have another GM checkin in late September-early October as we get ready for the draft.
